But how will you simulate the wear and tear on a team like Buffalo, which is flying cross country for all its intra-conference games?

Or on Las Vegas, where the players are staying in the casinos until 6:00am?

It will be an inherent flaw in the system ;D

One thing that would really help though is if on the roster thread, or possibly another thread, each GM could indicate what real NBA team each of their players are currently on. It would make organizing the trades much easier and quicker for me if I could take a quick look and realize someone had three members of the Jazz or something like that.

That style of list is perfect, but I'd rather not sift through comments and non roster posts to find the rosters. That style is exactly what I'm thinking though.

I'll try to come up with a list for you, and post it in the first post of this thread.  Once people post their rosters, I'll add them.

Also Hoyo, if you make these Rosters, then wanna play out a league with the teams to see who is REALLY better, I am totally down for a 2k10 online league.

Roy has an XBox too. Don't let him lie to you.

Haha unfortunately my friend is the one with the playstation 3... I on the other hand, am stuck with the antiquated and possibly jurassic Playstation 2

That would be great though Roy I appreciate it.

Now obviously this is easy for me to suggest since I'm not doing any work here, and I realize putting the rosters in is the hardest part (hey how's our 08-09 season coming Maestro  :P), but what I would love to see is once you put the rosters in save them, then sim the season several times, and just list who won the most championships:

Out of 10 simmed seasons:
New Jersey won 4 times
Buffalo won 3 times
Phoenix won 1 time
Las Vegas won 1 time
Chicago won 1 time
Etc.
(Personally I'd rather see this than the more individual awards/stats (i.e. LeBron wins MVP, these 24 players made the All-Star game, DWade averags 34.6 ppg, etc.)

And if I'm being picky I'd want to see that done like 100 times, with all the win/loss records being tabulated and averaged.
New Jersey won the championship 37 times, with an average win/loss record of 55-27.  They made the playoffs 98 times.  Their best season they won 62 games, worst season they won 38 games.  Not too much work right?  I expect to see that report on my desk by the end of the day.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

One way you could do it is go through all 30 teams one at a time, each time sorting according to rating (so the best players are on top), then waiving them.

Then you'd have the top 60 players in the league waived, and you could go on assigning them to new teams (all teams would have 13 players after you waived the good guys).

Then, do it again.

And again

and again

Just for the record, I tried doing this last year and it took me a few days to do. By the time I got to the Suns (as in I had every team alphabetically up to the Suns roster exactly how we had it in the draft), the roster updated itself automatically with the new roster download and I lost it all. I didn't have the time nor the patience to do it all again. I was so pi**ed off.

I don't really have the time for all that to be honest. I mean I'm taking on a ton of work here as it is, and we'll see how this goes. Maybe I'll sim it a ton of times and give champions for 10 seasons or something, but no way win-loss records are coming into play haha sorry.

Lol, don't worry I wouldn't expect anybody to do that, but I was just saying if I had my druthers (ya that's right I said druthers) that would be great to see.  Something that would take like 3000 man hours of work, for me to browse over real quick in 30 seconds.  I can't believe you don't want to that for us HDM, just selfish  ;)

But seriously I would rather see multiple simmed seasons with less detail, than 1 simmed season with a lot of detail, but that's just me (I'm assuming both would take about the same amount of time/work).

Haha what can I say, I am simply not a good person  ;)

I kinda like the idea of the unpredictability of one year though. To me that made it more fun. For example, an 8 seed over a 1 seed would be something pretty interesting to post about, or if one team got hit by a major injury like real life. I'm going to do the one year with detail, but I'll probably sim the season 10 times or so and post the highest regular season record and the playoff champion each season. I can't really go into more depth then that.
