i love the 'overrated Favre" talk. Not like he leads the NFL in every catagory.

Yeah, including interceptions.

Favre holds the records for many pure volume stats in the NFL (Passes thrown, TD passes, interceptions).

Don't get me wrong, he was a very good QB, but he was not one of the greatest of all-time.  He was a gunner (and probably one of the two best gunners of all-time, along with Marino), but I don't think he compares to the much more efficient guys like Brady, Manning, Young, Montana, etc.

Brett Favre has been riding the coat tails of a superbowl victory for the past decade.  Favre has been a team killer over the past decade because of his selfish offseason behavior and "gun-slinging" on field behavior which I think is a nice way of saying turnover prone.

I'd be slightly interested to see them play in the new UFL. I bet Farve wouldn't even be the best QB in that league.

Vick.

I think Farve has decided his body is done in terms of NFL play.  Let him go.

Vick can still be entertaining on the field.

we all know about the ints, but to call him a team killer couldn't be more wrong. do you even know who the idiots were that were running the team? After Ron Woolf left we had just an awful front office. We had a gm/coach that took a freakn punter as the first pick overall!
You say he's selfish. Do you have info on the conversations betweed him and teddy that they rest of us don't know about? He had every right to be p---ed with this current gm because the fool had really done nothing to build a team to win while he had some good years left.

You can call him what you want but I'll take the most wins, td's, reliable QB the league has ever seen and live with the int's.

He killed the packers at the end of his career in the offseason and regular season.  Killed the Jets during last season to the point where in the finale the fans were chanting, "We want Clemens!"  And we will see but probably did some good damage to the Vikings this year.

the only reason the jets were relevant last year was because of him. Had he not injured his shoulder it would have been a different story for them. Plus the jets went after him to sell tickets and generat excitment for the team.
I still dont know how he "killed" the packers chances. I believe it was a combo of injuries and bad coaching/gm that killed them last year. They came off a 13/3 year in large part because he had a great year and the rest is history. Our GM hasd this thing against going after good players outside the draft. He passed on Moss and basically gave him to you guys on a platter. Favre was not happy with the fact that Ted was trying to build a team for the post favre era. Everyone wants to jump on Favre saying he's selfish and a baby but yet they dont stop to look at what and why he may have did what he did. Thompson wanted his guy in there from the time he came to town. It's rather sickening to watch FA after FA year after year pass us by becasue the ego maniac wants to build a team his way.
As for the viks, good. They knew the dangers of going after him. It's not like he signed and then retired after the first week of the season.
And btw as a packer fan who watched him for the last 17 years i can say that I would take his play making  ability over any other qb. Had he a better team/coaches around him while he was still in his prime he would have a few more rings.

Since 1996 all he has done in the playoffs is throw picks.  And he held the Packers hostage year after year as to whether or not he would retire.

And if he werent such a self interested player who just wants his records he would have sat at the end of last year so that Klemens could start to give the jets a better chance to win.

My FAVORITE Favre article of all time: Overhyped: Favre didn't deliver in second half of career

In certain extreme situations, the law is inadequate. In order to shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law. To pursue... natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive, it's an emotional response. No. Not vengeance. Punishment.
