All right, nothing interesting this round.  I've just been picking categories at random, but I've decided I need a scientist before they're all gone.
Rather than picking a straight-up queer philosopher like Aristotle, I'm gonna have to pick a cool mathematician, Archimedes.

Wasn't that the clockwork owl in Clash of the Titans?  I think a god made it but it helped Perseus out.


Edit: Yup, it was Merlin's, and apparently the owl in CotT was called "Bubo".
