Portland has a beach. The coast of Oregon is actually quite beautiful, so long as you don't try to go into the water.

Not the beach Odom would want.

I think the go for a sign and trade with the Knicks to bring in Lee.

Odom love his years in Miami and spends his off seasons there. it's where he wants to settle when all is said and done. I personally don't see Odom being a cold wet climate type of guy. He's won his championship and made some good money. He goes to Miami where he has a friend in Dwayne Wade, awaits them signing Bosh next summer and with Beasley, Chalmers and Cook they have some very good youth to grow.

Odom could be a guy that can go to somewhere he likes to live, make excellent money though not as much as he could have, and still be playing for championship teams. A player who feels happiness, comfort, and where he is living means more than a couple million more a year.

I think the rumored Portland-Utah-Chicago deal goes down, now that the clock has officially started.

Boozer to Chicago, Hinrich to Portland, and Ty Thomas and Steve Blake to Utah.

Kevin Pritchard would be a fool to waste Portland's cap space on Odom. He is not the steady, veteran presence they need.

As a mostly life-long Oregonian, we actually don't refer to it as the beach here, we call it the coast, as in "we're going to the coast today." Beaches imply things like bikinis and sun tan lotion. The Oregon coast is about windbreakers, rolled up pants and kite flying. So yeah, not exactly what Odom is probably looking for.

Sounds like Maine. I never got why people in Maine go to the beach. Its just cold enough to be pretty uncomfortable. And I live on the border with Canada.

Was just out at Cannon Beach this past Saturday. Had a great time, despite heavy cloud cover and temps in the mid-70s.  Always love going out to the coast.

Lamar Odom's agent is licking his chops.  I expect that Odom will be Portland's next target.
agreed, they'd be absolutely insane NOT to go after him...get better AND make their competition worse at the same time? no brainer!

Except Odom has said he will only sign in a City with a beach.
Quotes like that from Odom are stupid to the point of being mind-boggling.   ::)

How so. I think the implication is quite clear. He's looking for warm weather climate near the ocean.

... but Hinrich is?  I don't see it that way.  If I'm Portland, I'd rather have Blake and payroll flexibility than Hinrich.
