http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60380/20090706/grant_hill_very_serious_about_joining_knicks/

"Grant Hill spent the day with the Knicks and said he is "very serious" about the possibility of signing with the team.

"I've always been a fan of the Knicks and the city," Hill said. "Obviously, they've gone through a lot the last few years, but I'm a big fan of Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni, so I'm definitely interested. I'm just taking it all in."

D'Antoni spoke about what Hill may be able to bring to the Knicks.

"Yes, he's going to be 37 and you don't know when he's going to hit the wall, but he hasn't hit the wall yet," D'Antoni said. "If he was 25, we couldn't get him anyway.""

I can't say I am that disappointed. I have been a big Hill fan since the mid 90s, but I would really prefer someone a bit younger.

I'll never get excited about a possible FA signing ever again.

I guess winning isn't important to Grant Hill

Doesn't he want to win a play-off series in his career?

He wants his smoking hot wife to be happy, and he wants to be in NYC.

Regardless of what his intentions are, do you expect anything different from an interview that was done in NY while he was there visiting the team?

He's not going to say "the Knicks suck, no way I would ever be interested here".

Maybe he is, or maybe he isn't, but this report does nothing for me.

He's a nice guy and a moron. Phoenix was bad enough. I'm glad he'll never get a ring, if he's not willing to make some sacrifices he doesn't deserve one. Hot girls are everywhere, gimme a break.

It is his prerogative.   Make almost $4MM/year more for 1 year.

We should be able to get a reasonable SF/SG backup for the LLE.  Maybe Matt Barnes though I'd prefer a better defender (the guy is a tweener who is too small to defend PF and lacks the foot speed to defend SF).

NBA players are morons. Artest took a pay cut just to play in LA. Hill joins a dysfunctional franchise cause its in NYC. This stuff just does not make any sense.

You married?  Sometimes you do things for your wife that you don't want to do.

Hell, I'm convinced that Turkoglu just signed with Toronto because his wife wanted him to.

He should go to NY.  More cash and better opportunties for the wife.  It's a no brainer.  Hell I know I where I would go if one job was offering 3 times the money.

Grant Hill risks a vicious karmic smackdown if he doesn't join Doc Rivers in Boston this coming season.  It's not his fault, per se, but he's got a huge debt to repay.  He needs to make up for all those millions he banked while playing twenty games a year in Orlando.  It's karma, baby - don't mess around!

Mark it down - Grant Hill signs in New York, torn ACL in preseason!

Would you make the choice of your final contract based solely on $2M vs $6M if you'd already earned $126M in your career?
