Doesn't Nash have a team option?  Have the Suns picked it up yet?  Could he be a free agent this year?

Yes, he does. So he could walk (to New York, I presume).

C'mon, he's Canadian, he can handle being a bit further North.

Sorry if this has been brought up, but how stupid do the Suns look now for trading an *unprotected* 2010 pick to the Sonics (Thunder) for taking Kurt Thomas' contract off their hands?  That pick has some major, major value if the Suns complete their task of blowing the roster up.

The Suns are trying to trade their lottery pick this year for next year's pick.  If I calling the shots in OKC, I'd tell them no way.

Wow. Great point. Who trades unprotected draft picks these days? I'd be willing to bet that that pick is in the lottery in 2010.

Even worse?  The Suns originally owned the Knicks unprotected pick next season, and traded it to the Jazz for...  you guessed it, cap relief.

So, if things play out like they could, the Suns could have originally had the rights to two high lottery picks next season, but traded them for nothing.

Yeah, I'm assuming they never expected to be this bad this soon...but clearly trading away both picks was a terrible idea.

Rockets instantly get the best front court in the league. Throw in a couple free agent guard and that is one team I would not want to face when healthy.

Will they be healthy though?  That's the question.  Yao is currently out "indefinitely" and Amare hasn't even resumed physical activity yet.

I agree though, Amare+Yao would be a scary front court if they're both 100%.

AZ Republic calls shenanigans on T-Mac for Amare, says Suns might deal Wallace for Chandler instead:
