One minutes Danny's saying he loves Rondo, he's not looking to trade him, etc. The next interview he's talking about how difficult Rondo is, how they disagree about everything, and seems to imply that they want him gone. So much for "halting the rumors", as he did in the first interview. Now he's just adding to them. On the one hand, if he's looking to trade him, he's not make Rondo look like a very good acquisition. On the other hand, if Rondo's not on the block, he's doing a lot of bad mouthing of one of his championship caliber players.

From what I can piece together, Rondo is extremely stubborn and a bit egotistical. However, he's improved a lot in attitude since his rookie season. Whatever the real truth is, I wish everyone could get their story straight. Is he too difficult to coach and work with, or not? If so, then deal for a trade. If not, stopping blowing smoke where there's no fire.

Anyone else feel this way? If this keeps up, it's going to be an extremely long off-season.

What I can piece together is the media runs with the littlest of stories and journalism has taken a back seat to getting it in the media.

Unfortunately it looks like Rondo will be moved. Now the key is to get a fair package back.

Rondo to Memphis for #2 (Rubio) and Conley or Gay. Sign Andre Miller and McDyess.

This makes sense. Honestly these kind of situations define media and true journalism. There are so many articles out there that are taking quotes out of context and making stories out of outdated reports, for no other reason that to get their foot in the rumor mill. That's media jumping on the bandwagon. The guys doing the actually interviewing and subsequent reporting, that's actual journalism. We need less of the former and more of the latter. Regardless of whether these Rondo rumors are true, people quoting Doc's "your team hates playing with you" statement and calling it recent are just blowing smoke for the sake of it.

Wasn't it once said that Rondo "makes this team go". When he's playing good theyre pretty much unstoppable, and idk why a pg with the ability to push the ball and make good decisions like a 10 year veteran would be shipped off in his THIRD YEAR. These rumors make me livid because we won't find a pg that makes the team go like Rondo does anywhere, mark my words.

Maybe this is all a ploy to get Rondo to adjust his attitude. I've got to think that Danny "going public" has weakened Rondo's trade value a bit.

Yeah, that's what's getting me, he's making Rondo look pretty bad, and who wants to trade for that? Especially because DA also said he's looking to keep the team as intact as possible since it's a championship contender. I hope you're right. I'd hate to see Rondo get tossed without one more year to try to improve his weaknesses (meaning, game and attitude).

Well the Red Sox are notorious for bashing their stars as they grease the wheels for their departure. NBA is a business and the Celtics are conscious of that. They don't want an uproar when Rondo is moved or not given the extension.

That's true. If the deal is already essentially agreed to, they can take go this route without worrying about trade value.

It works, too, because I'm already finding myself warming up to moving Rondo, so long as we get good talent back.
