I actually think all this hooblah will help Rondo. The disrespect card always brings the best out of the players. The trend with Rondo is that he outdoes the previous year. His 4th year, contract year, will be no different. Rondo will be off the charts. Every aspect of his game improves. He will lead to Celtics in Points & Assists & Steals. Maybe not points "yet" with Pierce & Ray on board. But will put up all-star numbers & lead the celtics to #18.

Won't happen. Those are MVP numbers, and I'm not sure Rondo is that type of player.

I'm thinking 13-14ppg, 8-9apg, 5-6rpg, and two steals for Rondo next season.

to bad he won't be on our team  ???
Actually someone did a same topic last year.  It would be interesting to see who was closest in that.
KG back will eat up rebounds
12 ppg, 8 apg, 5 rb, 2.5 steals
all star team
No way does he lead the team in scoring.

there is no way guy like Rondo who can't make a shot even if you put a gun on his head, to lead a team in scoring, even if he's your 1st option, even if he plays overseas, come on the guy can't shoot the ball, maybe someday if he improve his jumper, but now it's hilarious just to mention it

Regarding his shooting, here are his three point percentages since his rookie year:

06-07 - .207
07-08 - .263
08-09 - .313

That is a 50 point jump for two consecutive years. Even if he only moves it up another 40 points into the .350 range, he will be a credible threat next season.

There is no way Rondo will be a 35% three point shooter next season with his shooting form. His shooting technique is comparable to charles barkley's golf swing.

And to think he practices everyday with fundamentally sound shooters like PP and Ray allen...

34%?

Not likely with those numbers.

With the three stars, the ball will never be in his hand enough to reach those numbers.

i think expecting rondo to stick the three is redundant bc he doesnt need to hit threes.  it would be a bonus if he could stick the three, but the way he plays, he only needs to focus on his midrange game, primarily off the dribble.

I'm thinking 13-14ppg, 8-9apg, 5-6rpg, and two steals for Rondo next season.

That sounds reasonable--unless KG doesn't come back like his old self. Then we might see more of the burden shift to Rondo and his stats might be more like:

15-16ppg, 8-9apg, 6-7rpg. Probably 2 steals per game like you mentioned.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

In that case, it isn't going to matter.   If the Celtics do not have the KG from this season, they are not winning a title.

So long as it doesn't motivate him to put up those numbers for some other team...
