He's pretty much said that he's going to the highest bidder.  Time will tell whether that's Boston, but I'm skeptical.

Do you have a link to his quotes, because I don't remember him saying he's going for the money.  I thought he said he wanted to play in Boston.

I said go elsewhere, but I'm curious to see what happens on two fronts.

1) How much will the economy affect FA contracts.  If it does affect it a lot, Davis could be back.

2) Do other teams really believe he can be a starter on a contending team?  This question is interesting on two fronts as well.  Because if teams don't believe that, one of two things could happen: a) he could be back, or b) come team could sign him to starter money knowing full well that the team isn't going to contend.  The latter possibility would certainly be pretty sad for that team.

Overall, I'd like to see him back, but I don't believe he's a starter on a contending team.  So I hope if he comes back, it's not for big money.

For those that think Davis is out of here, where do you think he will go?

First where can Davis go where he can start?  I think that list is pretty short, and of course alot of that has to do with how the each team drafts, trades, and handles their current free agents?

Milwaukee maybe?  If Villanueva leaves as a FA he would probably start there.  Villanueva is going to command more on the market then Big Baby, so maybe the Bucks unwilling to pay Villanueva and instead sign a cheaper, young PF in Davis.

OKC maybe?  If they play Green at the 3, and Durant at the 2.  If they play Collison and Krstic both more at Center, Big Baby could probably start for them, and both Collison and Krstic have decent length so they could try with an undersized PF like Davis.  Of course it all depends on what route they take with the #3 pick.  If they trade for Griffin, no need for Baby.

Golden State?  Technically he could start there since they don't have much at the PF slot, but no way he could hang with Nelson as the coach.  Davis ain't built for run and gun and Nelson would have him crying in no time.  A terrible fit.

Memphis maybe?  He could battle it out with Darrell Arthur, but could start there.  If not starting could definitely get an increase in minutes, splitting time with Arthur.  If they draft Thabeet, maybe they think a 7’3” C will offset for a 6’8” PF and take a chance.

Don’t see too many places where he could start, but he could come of the bench for any team, and since every team has the mid level, technically he could end up anywhere.  Can’t see him going to an up-tempo team, so New York, Phoenix, Golden State are likely out.  Houston has enough undersized guys already.  Orlando, Cleveland, LAL are probably set with their teams, more likely to make minor tweaks.

New Orleans?  He’s from there, so there’s always a chance.  Looking to save money, so not likely they’re going to outbid anybody for him though.

Utah?  Boozer leaves, so Millsap starts, they’ll be in the market for a backup PF.  Probably not a great fit with Sloan though.

San Antonio?  Looking to add a little youth, but Davis would be playing the same role there as he would with the C’s.

Indiana?  Would come off the bench, but they have a thin front court.  Foster and Murphy give them rebounding, Hibbert gives them length, Davis could be a decent backup PF for them, and the rest off their front court helps offset for Baby’s deficiencies.

Wow this post was long...

He's going to the highest bidder. He's still young, he's going to get the money while he can.

You will have to google it. He made it clear that he would like to be here, but he has to do what is best for his career.

It seems difficult to anticipate his market value. I have no idea how much interest there is in him.

A bunch of his quotes are here.

Among them:  "This is a business first. You just have to go where you have to go" and "If I was a rookie, I’d be like, ‘Man, I want to stay here,’ but now I understand that it’s a business."

He said something similar to this. I believe he said that he understands that this is a business and if he has to leave then he will, meaning he's going where the money is.

If I was in his shoes I'd take as much money as I could get. Might be his only contract. Got little money as a second round pick. Love to see him stay but I don't want to see us over pay either. I see a sign and trade coming out of this. Baby is a be the next Oliver Miller if he goes back to hittin the big macs.
