Rondo, Marbury, House, Pruitt
Allen, House, T. Allen, Giddens
Pierce, Walker
Garnett, Baby, Scal, Powe
Perkins, Moore

This is the team that set an N.B.A. record at 27-2 and would have won the championship if not for Garnett's injury.  That's my firm belief.  However, I also firmly believe that this same group can't do it next year because of wear and tear on starters.

Actually, it's not the team that set an NBA record at 27-2 although it is the team that would have won the championship if not for Garnett's injury. The team that set an NBA record at 27-2 actually didn't have Marbury or Moore, they had O'Bryant and technically Cassell, although he never played a game. So it's actually

Rondo, Pruitt
R Allen, House, T Allen, Giddens
Pierce, Walker
Garnett, Davis, Powe, Scalabrine
Perkins, O'Bryant

which is slightly more comical.
Go Celtics.

  • Rondo = Good
Yeah, it really underscores that our team is essentially 5 great starters and 2-3 guys who are decent off the bench and...that's it.

No wonder we couldn't stay that good for the whole season.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

We should have traded that start for KG taking the time to get his knee cleaned before the season started. Perhaps less pain could have avoided some stress on the knee and avoided the tendon injury.

Can't really complain about that though. Standard stuff. Look at Kobe -- he skipped surgery for his finger and it has turned out fine. People opt out of surgery all the time. We just have to accept that sometimes things don't work out.

I would love to see a rematch in the finals next year, with Kobe trying to break a two year finals losing streak. They could be the new Buffalo Bills.
