Looks like the Rockets plan of increased rest and decreased activity during the season to maintain Yao's health fell a few games short.  They better tweak the program in favor of even more rest, because this is the 3rd year in a row he didn't make it to the finish line.

What a brutal loss for the Rox. Sounds like Yao's foot problems can be recurring. This can crimp Houston in the future as well. The NBA landscape is definitely changing in the WC. By the way, isn't Ron Artest a free agent? I would definitely sign him up to replace Tony Allen/Posey and tutor Bill Walker. Ron Artest would get us back in the winners circle in 2010.

I was looking forward to this being a strong series for the Rockets, this is really shocking for them. When they lose this series, I hope Artest will come to Beantown and help us bring home another title.

The Rockets are cursed... I feel bad for them because they were finally able to get out of the first round and had a chance to beat the Lakers... and now their star is done for the season. Wow. I'm still excepting a Rockets win tonight but certainly not a series win.

You would have to think Yao Ming's career is winding down. He is just not mobile enough to play through the playoffs.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

The Rockets haven't let it slow them down. They are up 16 points at half time.

Edit:18 points actually.

Rockets absolutely owning, even without Yao. Gotta love how they're giving it to the Lakers.

Rockets lead by 29 after three.

A. Brooks is pretty sick.

Yes. 17 in the third, 28 for the game.

Ha ha the last buzzer alley-oop of Brooks sums up the game. The Lakers are getting embarrassed, I hope the Rockets keep it up in the 4th!
