On Wednesday at the NBA store after winning a Twitter contest, he signed his new Book "Red and Me" what a thrill. He was awesome, told me he was heading up to Boston to see the Celtics in game 1 and I told him "we need KG back" his answer was "you think" and then he delivered one of his trademark loud bellowing chuckles.

How do I post the pics so you guys can see?

I was told, although I can't find it, that Bill Russell was going to be at the Barnes and Noble today May 8th at 12:30 doing a book signing or maybe just an appearance.

If you need help let me know and I'll give you a hand.  Would love to see them.

I got a phone message last night. My friend was at a restaurant in Acton, and he said that Russell was signing books next door at the bookstore. I missed it. He's scheduled at 12:30 today at Barnes & Noble at the Pru.

Congrats - I interviewed him right before the start of our championship season over the phone for about 45 minutes (posted it on this site) Absolute thrill of my lifetime. I even got him to cackle. Once again Congrats Sec 87

I met him last night in Acton at the booksigning. I told him I saw him sitting next to Tommy at the game the night before, and asked him if he thinks the refs were always this bad or if they have forgotten the fundamentals of basketball nowadays. He said the problem is that they added the third ref, and that compounds the ignorance! And then he let out a big laugh. Great guy, very happy and friendly.

Bill Russell is signing autographs?  When did he start doing that?

He's doing it as part of his book tour. He's a much happier, mellower, Bill than he was during his playing/coaching career. Since he returned to the Celtics organization a few years ago, he's all smiles.

Glad to hear that.  Russ could be a great ambassador for the game.

If theres a second coming of the messiah Bill Russell would be my candidate.
The NBA..where "this whole sport is a business and the referees decide games and David Stern is a snake and is only in this for the money" happens.

George Burns made a passable God in the movie 'Oh God', but if they were filming it today Bill Russell would make for great casting.
