Until we play the Houston Rockets again (which may not be until next season), my new favorite non celtic player has to be Ron Artest... Anyone who was watching the Rockets-Lakers tonight (and his interview afterwords, where he told it like it was) knows why...

Did you hear in the post game interveiw where he talks about growing up in the neiborhood playing basketball.  He talked about a guy getting killed with a chair leg on the court ???

That escalated quickly, Brick killed a guy. Yeah, with a trident.

I agree for whatever reason Artest is growing on me. I still remember him from back in the day pulling Pierce's shorts down though, but he is a player I would love to have on my team as long as he plays like he has this year. The guy is a beast scores the ball plays defense and really gets under peoples skin.

Also must say I love watching Brooks he is just so fast and handles the ball so well that I love watching him play.

brooks is great, reminds me a little of rondo. i have always said i would love artest if he was not a knucklehead (i feel the same way about terrell owens...what a great player. too bad he is a knucklehead). as for his game, he is an amazing player. he does seem to have matured a little as he has gotten older. he kept the rockets in it last night. back to houston 1-1.

This is basically what happened (What Artest said). He had been gaurding Kobe all game long, and Kobe had been taking cheap shots at him the entire time, offense and defense, and it wasn't getting called. He said that he even confronted the referee and told him that as he was playing defense, Kobe was slapping down his arm. He told the ref that something needs to be done. Later in the game, Kobe and Artest were both fighting for a rebound (I'm sure you can find a replay of this somewhere online, its  even in another thread), and Kobe clearly elbowed Artest in the throat. Artest got mad, and basically confronted Kobe and told him to stop... Atest got tossed. WOW

Yeah, I must agree with all of that. I was watching the Houston game last night and I was paying attention to Brooks because I always thought he would make something of his self from the moment he came to the NBA. There were points last night where he sort of reminded me of Rondo, not nearly the talent Rondo is yet, but there were flashes of some major potential. Especially since he already has a sweet J.

Yeah, Artest was right to go ove to Kobe, especially if the Refs are going to allows Kobe to get away with that crap. I liked Artest on that play.

he gets a bad rep for being insane... but he's a guy who legitimately cares about winning when he's on the court.  A lot of his "meltdowns" and "stories" are a result of him caring way too much about basketball.  In a way, KG is slightly as insane, but seems to manage it better.

I wouldn't mind having Artest on the Celtics.  When it comes to basketball, he's not a problem.

The only basketball problem with Artest insanity, is that when he is mad he can play out of control.  The last time the Lakers and the Rockets played, Kobe challanged Ron and it became a game of trying Artest and Kobe trying to match each other shot for shot.  This plays into the Lakers game plan and not how the Rockets need to play to win.  Artest had a terrible game because Kobe got to him, lots of TOs, poor shot selection.

If he plays angry (physical) but still can play with in the game plan, then he is a beast.

I am very intrested to see how Artest comes out for game 3, the good Artest or the bad Artest.  If it is the good p---ed off Artest then the Rockets may win in a blow out.

Artest would make a perfect addition for this team becuase of his trash talking and defensive tenacity. Too bad him and Yao are Houston's best players and theres no way they don't resign him, plus he'd be too expensive for us to see him in the next 3 years.

Ron Artest is really misunderstood. I love his attitude on the court. Plays tough without being dirty. He's one of the toughest dude in the league.

My favs have always been Tony Battie because he was similar to Powe in that he always played his hardest with what he had. Nate Robinson is favorite  along with Dwight, they're fun to watch.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!
