Doc trust your bench.  If we are to win this thing we have to have everybody contributing, our best 10 players.   We are not going to win playing only 7 guys, like it is 1987 all  over again.  When you bring in the bench players and they do well it is a huge lift and that can give us the momentum to win. We should be winning some of these games easily and the only way we can do that is by getting at least 9 guys involved. Some of you can make negative comments about Marbury, TA, and Mikki, but we are not going to win this thing without them. If you only want to play two of those three then just play 2 we can go with 9 guys. Our starting five, Scals and House are playing well, that is 7 quality players, but we need 9.  This is the post season, we have at least 12 games left to win the title. It is too many games to expect 7 players to play huge minutes every game.  You have to give Marbury, TA, and Mikki a chance. They are only playing 5-10 minutes if that, they need to be playing 15 and their play will improve. It is the only way to win the title. It is too difficult to win in the post season with only 7 guys, especially if one of them isn't KG. Doc, trust your bench.

You don't know what you are talking about.  We don't have 1 KG, we have 12. We have 12 KG's, one KG as coach(Doc), one KG GM(Ainge). 18,000 KG's as fans in TD and 3 to 5 million KG's as fans. Before KG came over here we had no KG's, now we have 5 million KG's. He is there with us. We are not playing without KG, he is there with us on the court, that is all we need.   Did you see TA's alley oop dunk in Game 6 against the Bulls? Did you see TA's alley oop dunk in Game 6 against the Lakers. He can make plays, we are only asking him to play 10 minutes.  Stop criticizing our players.

You do not blowout teams with 5 guys, you do not blowout teams by playing only 7 players.  You blowout teams by getting 9 or 10 guys involved.  We should be blowing out some of these teams, Bulls, Magic, Cavs whatever. We only won 1 game big so far, Game 3 against the Bulls, because of our bench play.  Any game with all 5 starters playing 40 minutes is going to be a struggle, give us an easy win and rely on our bench a little more.  I'm not asking for 50 minutes from Mikki, but get these guys involved more.  We have 10 quality players and we should be using all of them.

That makes no sense. Doc has to trust them first.  They made the NBA, are all NBA players and all had a willing committment to play for the greatest sports organization of all-time the Boston Celtics.  That is what they have done to earn Doc's trust.   They are not playing 40 minutes a game, so to say they haven't done anything to earn Doc's trust makes no sense.  They are not getting the opportunity.  They made the team didn't they? They are all NBA players aren't they? That is enough to earn Doc's trust.

Some of you people act like our 8th, 9th and 10th guys on our team are some 150lb lawyer, a housewife, and a grandpa.  They are Star, Mikki, and TA.  These guys can play.  Quit with the these guys are terrible nonsense.  Sometimes they are getting 4 minutes a game. What do you expect them to do in 4 minutes, be Michael Jordan on crunk and score 38 points and grab 12 boards. You can't judge a player by 2 or 3 runs down the court, they can lose confidence if they are in there for a very limited amount of time. You have to keep giving them 10 or 15 minutes it makes us a more balanced team and it gives us a 36 minute Ray, and 33 minute Paul instead of a 43 & 45 minute Ray and Paul and that is very important.  Plus, these guys have the opportunity to light it up.  What was the point of KG being out? That other guys stepped up and improved their game.  Now it is time for these 3 to improve their game. They are on our team for a reason, they are not ball boys and towel boys, they are NBA professionals, so treat them as professionals and they will come thru. Plus if these guys get going it is twice or three times as important because you know the other 7 are going to hold their own.

Honestly if Star gets 10 points it is like 12, if Mikki makes 2 dunks it is like 3, if TA gets 3 steals it is like 5. It pays huge dividends to play a "gamble" in a sense and give these guys more playing time.  Because if they come thru we are DEFINETLY going to win. Whereas if they don't it is going to be a lot tougher to just hope that these 7 can get it done for us.  Its not 1987 with Mchale running around on 1 leg and Bird half a back. Its not Darren Daye and Fred Roberts, these guys have skills and are more efficient players, we have to take the gamble that these guys can come thru for us, it makes it that much easier to win. Why do you think we have 12 players suit up, so 7 can bust their a** and the other guys drink gatorade? Especially with KG out, we have to gamble a little bit and this is the best way to do it. Not only that but these guys can make spectacular plays, you've seen Star do it, you know TA can do it, and you know Mikki can do it. That will give us mad energy and momentum to see these guys get their game on.

Not only that but our starting 5 is great but are they starting out games well? Not at all, they start very slowly. You've seen lots of games where we are down 10 pts in the 1st QTR, we are not winning 1st Quarters by 15 points. Honestly if we started the 1st QTR with House, Scals, TA, Mikki & Star they wouldn't even do that much worse than the starters because our current starting 5 is not beginning games well. They play great in the 2nd half but are very sluggish starting out games. We need to begin the game with fire, get some big leads, get 10 guys involved, make some big dunks, power blocks or fancy passes that gets the crowd up and jumping. Having 48 minute Ray and 47 1/2 minute Paul starting out the game and going down 8 to 10 points after 12 minutes is not our best strategy.

I've been a Phillies fan and Celtics fan for 30 years. I've never had one guy on any of those teams where I was like "Oh my God I can't believe this guy is in the game". I had faith in every one of my players.   Yeah we had Mitch Williams in '93 and Juan Samuel in '87 who drove us crazy, and Erik Strickland's 4th Qtr minutes against the Nets in the 02 ECF made me nuts but I never doubted any of my players.  You have to have faith in people. You don't win championships on half a roster when are you going to realize that.  If I was Doc I would have started the 2nd unit tonight because of all the OT's against the Bulls. Would it work in the long run against Dwight Howard I doubt it, but for a 5 to 10 minute stretch you can create mismatches and match up players who do really well.   Look at tonight we were down 28 midway through the 3rd, do you really think Star would have been down 48 I don't think so. You have to trust your teammates, to say they haven't done anything to earn Doc's trust when they are wearing the Green with their jerseys and names on the backs like so many other greats have raised banners before in the rafters, is just silly. They have already earned their trust. Stop being scared and nervous and stop with this "Oh my God Mikki Moore is in the game he has dreadlocks" and HOP ON STARBURY'S BACK WE ARE WINNING IT ALL!!!!!

In 1976 do you think people were like "Oh my God Glenn McDonald is in the game I am getting so nervous and have no confidence I can't even watch". It was the exact opposite. Glen came into Game 5 and iced a couple of jumpers and we won the title because the Celtics have faith in their players.  To complain about a player and act like they are detrimental to the team is ludacris.  You have to have faith in all 12 of your guys.  Last year I was practically begging Doc to get TA in the game against the Lakers.   In the pivotal Game 4 he came in for 2 1/2 minutes, thats it and we went on a 10-0 run, you could see the other players get excited that TA was in there and they went on the big run to beat LA. Now if you don't think Tony is that guy, OK but you have to have faith in Mikki and one more guy HOP ON STARBURY'S BACK WE'RE WINNING IT ALL #18!!!
