M. Wunderlich
J. Capers
K. Mauer

Do they like us? Do they hate us? Do the Celts (as an organization) or any of the guy have any specific history with any of these refs? Why have I never heard of any of these 3 guys? Basically just discuss!...

One of these guys will get sick
before game time and Kennedy will
be brought in instead.

Stern, why do you hate us?

Ken Mauer was I believe the head ref for the Suns-Cs game a few years back that had Tommy as close to charging the floor as I've ever heard him.  Pierce wound up getting thrown down on his face, had to have 7 hours of dental surgery the next day, and got a no-call for his trouble.  Here's the clip from Sportscenter (audio is a little off, but Tommy is priceless):

Shouldn't this be a thread that Stan Ron Jeremy started instead of us?

You know that if we win Game 1, his dander will be up at press conferences the rest of the series (even more than usual).  Should be annoying and fun.

I don't get that comment. I mean, I get that Stan Van Jeremy doesn't like the abuse Howard takes on a nightly basis, but we the Celtics get the short end of the stick on the calls this year.

Oh, I agree.  We do get shafted it seems more than anyone (like playing 5 on 6 in Portland and having points added 3 quarters after it should have been).

However, to hear Van Gundy, you'd think the Magic were the most picked on team in the league.

TP for the video. Tommy is hilarious. I'm sad I won't get to hear him and Mike call the rest of the games this yr.

I posted this in the game thread, but here is is again:

This is from an article after an ECF game last season:

Kenny Mauer reasserted himself as the worst official this side of Violet Palmer. Having Mauer as part of the assigned crew of an important game is like seeing a seven day forecast of rain on the night before you leave for your vacation. Maybe he won’t quite ruin everything but you’re frustrated and concerned about your lack fo good fortune nonetheless. Mauer predictably blew several calls, including one late in the fourth when he overruled the nearer official who had whistled a Pistons foul on the play to call a travel on Ray Allen.

Doc and Mauer have also butted heads in the past.  I seem to remember one time when Mauer gave Doc 2 techs and ejected him less than 2 minutes into a game.

Don't forget, FLCeltsFan, that Mauer also has that Sopranos haircut going for him.  Hmmmm.

Wow, terrible REFS. That's the sad state of the NBA when the REFS make so much of a difference to how the games turn out. In Baseball and football you don't even know who the refs are. .

If you dont like Tommy you can leave. Tommy is probably the only announcer now a days that actually speaks what's on his mind and he represents the celtics so well. Love you Tommy!

I personally love when Tommy expresses his desire to inflict bodily harm to a member of the opposing team and/or an official.
