Shouldn't Doc entertain this idea?. At the very least, it will send a strong message to Marbury, House, and TA (step up or lose your spot). Take a page from Phil Jackson with the way he handled the Farmar situation. He didn't produce so he replaced him. I know Gabe hasn't done much this season. But if he plays his natural position (SG) along side Rondo he can succeed. He can shoot & is a decent defender.

I just don't see the reasoning of repeating a failed formula. Shake things up, and if it doesn't work we can always return to the other losers.

No....I'm actually one of the biggest anti-Tony voices on the site. But I would take Tony every day of the week over Pruitt given the stakes.

Nice to hear that. Could you give me one reason to play TA?.............. Dude hasn't done much & his potent D is awful. At least Gabe can hit some shots when they collapse on Pierce.

I agree. Anyone but Tony Allen. Pruitt or Walker. I'd take either.

Its kinda sad how Doc handles our young guys. A minute here, a minute there could do so much for their confidence. Could you imagine if he handled Rondo the same way? Where would rondo be by now if he couldn't play through his mistakes. Being confined to a chair clearly isn't doing them any good.

Maybe I'm giving Gabe too much slack. But in this series, he offers more than TA. You need shooters with some size to defend Rose & Gordon. And if it doesn't work we can always return to TA.

I like our young guys...but they haven't shown enough to earn minutes in the play offs. Maybe we see them during a blow out game...which won't be happening this series.

Quoted for truth. I don't think a 3-2 series is the spot to trot out a mediocre point guard who's proven absolutely bupkus in the regular season.

Do you people even read the original post? I said play him as SG. This might send a message to the whole bench, you either play better or get replaced. Maybe it wake them up. But you're right he hasn't proven anything.

For some reason, I don't think Doc forgot about Gabe. I think he just doesn't want to play him because he isn't that good.

Everytime I hear of Gabe, it reminds me how nice Dohntay Jones would be on the team.

I realize the Internet phenomenon that is "the next great Celtic is the one who doesn't get to play."

The harsh reality, though, is that coaches play the best players. Doc Rivers, I'm sure, would love to have a dandy eight or nine man rotation for the playoffs.

The problem is, he doesn't have eight or nine competent players to play.

The guy's not stupid. He's trying to win. He just doesn't have the bullets in his gun. Pruitt, Walker and Mikki Moore don't play because they haven't earned the time. Trust is a prerequiste for any playoff rotation. If these guys haven't earned Doc's trust, they shouldn't play.

Neither is Tony, House, or Marbury right now. I'm still glad Marbury signed with us. He just needs to shoot the dam ball.

I guess we have to do better this coming off-season.
