  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
Why play Walker or TA, all they would do is stay with their man, shut off the open shots...you have super-scal out there, mezmorizing play..."he is everywhere" if he touches the ball you love him...so do the announcers LOL, he set that pick on the guy who was no where near the play (gordon) if that was MM they would have called it a foul...PP just said we need MORE rebounds.....oh ya, first thing you think of is scal.......

You want to play Walker or TA at power forward?

As for Moore, he gets fouls called on him because he fouls a lot.  There's no conspiracy theory -- he just isn't a good defender.  He's often out of position, and he makes dumb mental errors.  To answer your question above, yes, there's a huge difference between Scal's fouls and Mikki's.  Generally, Scal's are smarter fouls that don't hurt the team; they're meant to prevent points.  Moore, on the other hand, often gifts the other team foul shots, for no other reason than sheer stupidity / lack of fundamentals.

sure scal is a ggod guy, he makes a diff, he helps the community ect...i just don't want him on my team...this ISN"T charity hour and we aren't wayyy ahead..! You don't think Walker or TA would be a better choice..? Doesn't matter where, better than scal, faster, jumpers, slashers, better D..come on...

Scal plays good defense, passes well, knows the right play in each situation, and opens up the floor for Paul, Rondo, and Ray with his outside shooting. TA is awful. He puts his head down and turns the ball over consistently, and as much as he is considered a "good defender" he goes for every upfake. Walker is far from being ready yet. Next year though, he can be like Big baby this year.

Oh, that's fine -- it's an excellent illustration of why you're not coaching the Celtics.

I never thought I'd say this, but I much prefer to see Scal in there over Moore.  Mikki somehow thinks he's going to rebound with one hand while he's out of position and only pulls down rebounds that come right to him (and then, only half the time).  Scal spreads the floor and generally doesn't screw up.  That's more than you can say about Moore.

Quoted for truth. I have no issue whatsoever with the quality of Scal's minutes in the second quarter.

And no, Tony Allen or Bill Walker isn't a better choice. You want either one of them with the ball in their hands in a tight playoff game? The answer is no.

At some point, people have got to realize that this is the playoffs. Players who haven't been able to earn minutes in the regular season aren't going to play, and they shouldn't.

I'd rather have Scal than Moore.  At least he can play defense without fouling.

Except when he should foul.  He's giving us better play than I thought he would after so much time off.

Well, the Celts outscored the Bulls by 2 when Scal was in, so he can't be hurting them *too* much.  He was the only bench player with a positive +/-.

Scal is not a productive player in terms of stats, but he fills a role competently.

And he does it with a minimum of mistakes, which is the reason why Tony Allen, Gabe Pruitt and Bill Walker rarely get off Doc's bench.

Yet he grabbed 3 rebounds in 7 minutes.
