Mike and Mike had an interesting question regarding what's been the best HOF class ever.  They were comparing this year's class which includes Michael Jordan, John Stockton and David Robinson with the class of 1980 which includes Oscar Robertson, Jerry West and Jerry Lucas.

I think it's a great question.

Which class do you think is better, 2009 or 1980?

It is a great question. But MJ is the tie breaker. 2009.

umm, greatest player ever, greatest point guard ever, and a top 10 center. 2009 by a landslide.

I think it's 2009. 2006 wasn't bad based purely on talent.

Yeah, 2009, just because MJ is the best player and Jerry Lucas is the weakest link.

1980.

In my book,
Lucas loses to Robinson
West beats Stockton
Oscar & MJ are tied

But what breaks the tie is this:

West is "The" Logo.

If we're talkin logos, this may be even more iconic and lasting then that...

Back off, newbie!

In terms of iconic logos, if you showed a million people worldwide the NBA logo or the Jordan logo, more people would know the Jordan logo.

Here's a question, if Jordan and West were around at the same time, who would've been chosen as "the Logo"?

Interesting question, especially if you look at 1969.  Three of the greatest coaches of all time...Red, Rupp, and Hank Iba.  As far as players....MJ makes the difference.

Yeah, 2009, just because MJ is the best player and Jerry Lucas is the weakest link.

While I agree with this, the gap between MJ and Oscar and West isn't as big as the gap between Oscar and West and Stockton/Robinson IMO.
