well listening tonight to danny say that if the playoffs were today he would play and would play well makes me feel a little better...these last few games are all winnable without him...cleveland being the only tough one...rest him all 7 and lets run....honestly think orlando is going to lose 2 or 3 more

People are parsing Ainge's words to a ridiculous level.

What does he accomplish besides damage his credibility by not being straight about Garnett's knee?

Everyone's been saying that we should shut down KG for the rest of the regular season.

Ainge shuts him down for HALF of the remainder of the regular season, and people are looking to jump off the nearest buildings like those Laker fans in the Jay Leno skit, and don't make me remind you which skit I mean.

Well, probably KG won't be 100% healthy this season but I am sure that he will be ready for the playoffs.

I am all for shutting him down for the rest of the regular season and get him ready for the playoffs. Give him at least 7 days off practice and then bring him back slowly.

He'll be ok to fight for #18! Have faith! Bleed green!

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale

I think it's fair to suggest that Danny isn't being completely candid.  Yesterday (or the day before) Danny said that KG didn't have a "set back", only for Doc to contradict that later in the day and say that KG wasn't healing as quickly as the team had anticipated.

There might be some motivation to hide the extent of a bad injury from the fans, especially when it comes time to purchase playoff "strips".  However, the one thing that suggests that the team is acting on the best information they have is that apparently Pierce is hearing the same thing we fans are (at least according to his Twitter.)  Danny might lie to the fans, but it's doubtful that he'd lie to the team.

Having spent my career around leg injuries, I really don't think the overall response is warranted.

These kinds of muscle strains are touchy, and they can be long-term - especially if the patient isn't patient - hahaha - with their recovery. I can certainly see the potential struggle with keeping Garnett in a recovery mode - much easier than I can see the Celtics front office engaging in a disinformation campaign that has very little, if any, potential to benefit them.

Much ado about nothing, if you ask me.

never as bad as you think....never as good....i am hoping it is just some extended soreness and he will be able to go in the playoffs
