Updated following 4/3 Games

Remaining Schedules

Boston (58-19) .753 [5 Games Remaining]: NJ, MIA, @CLE, @PHI, WSH

Orlando (56-19) .747 [7 Games Remaining]: @ATL, @HOU, MEM, NY, @NJ, @MIL, CHA

If Orlando wins the next two, I could easily see them winning out.  That makes the Cleveland game very, very important for us.

Looks like we "just" have to
take care of business.

Added a couple possible tiebreaker modifications.  I'm under the impression that these are the tiebreakers (at least btw 2 teams), please correct me if I'm wrong.

(1)Head to head (2) Division Record (if teams are in same division) (3) Conference Record (4) Record v. Playoff teams, own conference (5) Record v. Playoff teams, other conference, (6) Net points, all games

In our case, following (1), (2) gets thrown out the window, and that brings us to (3).  If things get tighter down the stretch, I can start posting (4)-(6)

I'd like to see Charlotte beat Orlando in the last game of the season in an attempt to make the playoffs.

4 games to go for each squad.  Celtics holding a one game lead.  In the event of a tie, it looks like the Celtics take the #2 seed via better conference record since neither team has an out of conference game left.

Celtics beat Miami
Orlando loses to the Knicks.

That puts the C's up by two games, I think.  With three games to go I think that sews up the 2 seed. 8)

if we own the tiebreaker, technically, we only have to win one out of the last 3 right?

Yeah, I think so.
That is correct, the Celtics have a magic number of 1 to clinch the number 2 seed for the Eastern Conference.

Assuming they can win one out of their last three games the C's will also have homecourt over any team that comes out of the Western Conference other than the Lakers. The Lakers have already clinched having homecourt against anyone other than Cleveland. They could still gain the overall number one seed over Cleveland as well.

One more loss by Orlando will also clinch the #2 seed for the Celtics regardless of how they do in their last 3 games.

C's are in great shape right now.

still dont even want the 2 seed, especially if that means opening up with detroit, Id much rather see orlando have to play them...

Also, Homecourt would just put more pressure on Orlando, and nearly no pressure on us...now we will have plenty of pressure. Orlando isnt a dominant home team, they actually play better on the road. We're gonna need to win on the road to repeat, why not start in orlando?
2 seed still useless imo
and who are we kidding? are we really going to beat cleveland on their homecourt in the playoffs anyways?

That being said, I AM extremly proud of the celtics and how they've continued to win and show heart throughout all the adversity and injuries this season

You don't want the number two seed? That is silly. Why not have every advantage that is possible. If we meet Orlando in the second round there will be tons of pressure on both teams regardless of the seed!

As for being able to beat Cleveland. I find your lack of faith, disturbing. If Orlando can beat them in Cleveland, so can we. For all the talk about the home team winning all the time people forget Ray Allen missed two free throws that would have won the game in Cleveland last year. We can do it.

I didnt think we needed homecourt when it looked like we were on the brink of getting the 3 seed, and Im just standing by that, we can beat them no matter what, and since we're gonna have to win a series in cleveland and/or LA, why not just start in orlando?

As far as confidence about winning in cleveland....why should I be? the celtics couldnt win there last season, and the cavs are literally twice as good now, and have only lost 1 GAME THERE ALL SEASON, and that was because the lakers were coming off such a high from winning in boston, they wouldve beaten anybody. its gonna be tough.

tommorows game might just be the most useless game ever  by the way...I think it would be an epic fail if we won tommorows game...we want cleveland thinking we cant win there, and really suprise them in game 1 of the ECF (if we meet)..
