I think the reason that Doc subbed for Perk was that he didn't want to call a timeout after a hopeful miss and wanted the shooting lineup in the game for the next possession.

a bit of a gamble, but not totally without logic....

Yeah, I am pretty sure that was the logic.  I definitely don't agree with it, but I there was SOME thought behind it.

But really, I think we are making too much of his one mistake in the game, rather on focusing on the fact that he was able to pull the right strings to keep them in the game, despite being in a really difficult situation.

Heh. I had the Chicago feed on league pass and the announcers were just baffled. They were like "I can't explain it." etc etc.

Doc's infatutation with small ball can sometimes be an issue. I just don't lineups that feature Eddie House, Stephon Marbury and Rajon Rondo. I would go to that lineup unless he is down to 5 guys left on the roster. Ever.

Small ball worked for us last year cause a versatile player in Posey, so if its to work this year Scal needs to get healthy. I can't believe this Scal is going to be needed this year.

Get well Scal

Doc cited an unwritten rule that players & coaches are allowed to get emotional in the game and lose it from time to time, but that referees can't. He shouldn't have to explain it because it's so obvious, but someone should explain it to Kennedy. I've seen a disproportionate amount of bad calls go against the Celtics this year, but that one wins the prize for most ridiculous.
