Im not sure if you can believe it because Donny sometimes says things he feels, and label it as what someone else says but thats  the closest ive heard lately.

Translation: he made it up

The same question was asked of Donny Marshall on weei radio yesterday, whats up with JR?He replied,"Doc feels he's to immature and not ready to be put in any role yet".Im not sure if you can believe it because Donny sometimes says things he feels, and label it as what someone else said but thats  the closest ive heard lately.

I trust Donny marshall's "inside take" take on the team a lot less than some forum member's, he's constantly wrong.

Donny says what the prompter tells him to say, as is his job. He's not some sort of puesdo assistant coach.

I have to very close friends that are associated with the sports departments in Division I schools. Ones a SID at an ACC school and one is an AAD at a Big 10 school. Both told me horror stories about Giddens behind the scenes that never get reported that confirm what Donny has said. He was, at least in college, almost right up to the end, very immature. And believe me, some of the stories I've heard, confirm it.

Oh yeah, I absolutely believe that he is incredibly immature.  Just watching him in warmups, he looks like a hyperactive little kid, who just wants to have fun.

This does not mean he can't be a good player, because at the same time, it looks like he genuinely loves the game, and has tremendous energy...he just seems to lack the focus that you see in other guys (like Walker, for example).

But honestly, I don't think that is why he isn't playing (Tony Allen was playing, wasn't he?  And he has a very similar personality).  I think the reason he isn't playing is because he is behind the curve on the court.  Which is not really that strange in the C's system, and as Leon Powe has proven, it does not mean that he will not catch up to the curve eventually.

Donny did go a little further but without details, that fit what you are saying. He wasn't going into details because as you know its a short q/a session on the radio but it did sound like he had maturing issues prior to joining the team, with Doc hoping things would develop as time passed but evidently it hasn't.tp

Plus, they really don't need someone to take SG minutes with both House and Pruitt playing off the bench.

I think doc should only play Ray and Paul together toward the end of games. This will increase the amount of time they can rest, and also ensure that at least one of them is on the floor at all times.

Thats either alot of minutes for walker when ray is on the floor or alot of minutes with ray at the SF, neither of which i think Doc is comfortable with.

And frankly, im not sure i am either.

Walker is only playing because Doc has been hearing it from everybody about Ray & Pierce's minutes. Out of the two rookies he plays the better one (or the one he is more comfortable with, or the one who plays a position of need). Either way it's pretty clear he'd rather not play Walker. Expecting for Doc to play them both is just asking for too much.

There are a lot of reasons that could possibly explain why Giddens isn't playing.

1.) He just isn't ready.

2.) Giddens was a bad pick, immature, dumb player, etc.

3.) The Celtics have plenty of other guards(6).

4.) Doc has percieved him the greater of two evils (rookies).

In my opinion, the only thing it's fair to assume is that Bill Walker has been the better player.

Do people really want the team to work another different player into the rotation? I know our host Jeff Clark defended the team should play the remaining games like they were pre-season games, but I had no idea he had such a following. Maybe the kid simply sucks, but the fact he isn't playing is no indication of that.

p.s. - Chris said it first than me.

Where is the evidence that he is a dumb player.  I heard Ainge say he had a high BBIQ.  I believe Ainge when he said that because he didn't have to and noone asked him that question. Plus, the few times i saw him play in the Dleague, he looked like a smart enough player to me.

Your missing the whole point of the post. I'm just saying that those are some assumptions that can be made. The only thing that we know for sure is that Walker has been the been the better player/prospect.
