My shoulders and neck are killing me from the tension in this game....like being stuck in the fresh pond rotary for 3 hours..!  I thought we were supposed to have the "Home court" refs...what happened to that..?

38 freethrows to 12 tells the whole story.

It seemed like there were two different sets of rules.

I think they lost a lot of their defensive toughness with the Ben Wallace injury.

They'll need more help from refs to keep the lead in the East IMO.

Great headline. I have to say  my 2 cents to avoid therapy. Are you kidding me, we should just rest pur starters until the playoffs because hc isnt going to do us any good with this kind oif garbage. But we limited out to's and were able to play through the zebras. The NBA owes boston an apology. But sadly this has been the case all year long at home. Something has got to give. I cant help but losing mote and more respect for this league when this crap happens. If we had lost, there woould have been no ply through the reffing excuse because this was as close to a perfect game you can paly. Go to hell stern and do something about this before this sport starts having pay per views, JR and intro music. If that happens, mabey we can sign hollywood and get the NWO back together.

This game actually started off with great officiating, I thought. Two physical teams, let them play, let the bad calls you do have be missed calls rather than contrived ones, and be consistent for both teams.

It seemed like after the BBD flagrant the refs decided the C's didn't deserve any more calls, because it went from being called perfectly to absurdly out of nowhere.

The NBA: Where Cheating Won't
Break Us Down Happens...

It's like the end of Slapshot.  Only in real life!  Apologies, but the trailer is about the only video that meets the standard of decorum for CBlog.

Cheers to the headline too - was watching with the gf on Tivo so I couldn't participate in the game thread, but the reffing was again awful.  Over the past 10 games we've had questionable to atrocious reffing more games than not.  Doesn't seem to matter if we're at home or not either.

I don't know - maybe bad reffing is like negative ads in political campaigns, where it seems like it's the worst it's ever been til you look back and realize it's always been that way, but this is starting to reach the level of calling the integrity of the game into question.  We win an evenly called game by 20-25 points - we were that dominant.

I'd love to see one of our resident YouTubers put together a montage of all the awful calls/no-calls we've dealt with over the past year and a half.  If this is ever going to change, the league's going to have to be publicly embarrassed first.

I had to check 3 different box scores before I was sure that the free throws were really 38-12 and not a misprint.  I don't think I have ever seen that big a differential in free throws.  At least the Cavs won't be able to blame the refs for their loss.

The Celtics overcame so much to win this game including the officiating.  It shows true heart.

Uh.... I thought that is what happened this summer when Donaghy was caught betting on games.  If they weren't publicly embarrassed then, then I don't know what could embarrass them.   I believe that Stern is going to need to be replaced as commissioner before anything is done about the officiating.

Donaghy made the allegation that the refs were given orders from the league office to influence games and gave instances and names and it would seem that the numbers and instances backed up what he said but Stern supposedly investigated and everything was rosy.  If he is the one giving the orders to the refs as Donaghy said, why would anything change with him still in charge?
