I just had a thought about Sunday's game against Orlando. If Baby starts at PF, who's going to back up Perk? Those two have been doing a great job on Howard. I can't remember if I've seen Leon defending him and Mikki isn't strong enough.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Maybe start Moore and have him defend Rashard Lewis. He has the length though I doubt he has the perimeter defensive skills to pull it off.

This is what I would do and see how it works. Moore has the height advantage when they go on offense too. But it's not like we really have much of an alternative to put in the PF position that can guard Lewis effectively.

No one is going to take Dwight Howard single handedly.  ;D

Seriously now, Big Baby shall be able to play him at least some minutes. If we need a 3rd player, I'd go with Moore - he must try to front him; once unsuccessful, proceed to foul him.

I can't remember Moore's coaches trusting him to stop perimeter oriented players, he's too prone to foul jump-shooters and close out without self control; they generally prefer to deal with his weaknesses as a post defender.

Actually, we've put some good single coverage on him, mainly with Perk and Baby.

I agree.  The key is to keep Howard out of the paint (no small feat).  The Magic have too many good outside shooters, and Howard's post game isn't good enough to warrant a double team.  Perk and Baby have done good in the past.

I've noticed that too, the guy jumps at every upfake by jumpshooters, we have to work that out of his system

Yea, you can't give dwight a hard double because of the shooters they have. I don't know about Baby on Rashard. Feet aren't quick enough but I generally don't like making lineup adjustments when you are the champs to match up with the other team. Let them adjust to us.

Of course, we could see Rashard blow by Baby 3 times in a row and go small. Who knows.

I doubt we can succeed. He's a 33 years old guy who will stay here for a couple of months...

I think if this were the playoffs, this might be considered.  In a regular season game, I don't think they will mess around with things like that too much.  I think Doc prefers to keep the continuity among units as much as possible, rather than getting too much into the whole matchup thing.

Powe should start. He can defend Lewis better than any of the other bigs can.

Just bring Powe into the game earlier for Davis so Davis can return sooner when Perk goes to the bench.

Mark my words...if Rajon's ankle is okay, he goes off Sunday against the Magic.

It will be tough, Lewis is tough...when he plays...and Howard is HUGE....! Hopefully we can make them work to cover us..play our game....like tonight...! I don't know, starting seems very important to guys game and confidence....I never felt that way when I played or coached......it is just about matchups to me...!

I'm sure Rondo remembers his little tiff with Rafer last year. 8)
