If they can't find anyone else to take Wally, they could end up pulling the trigger on Shaq for Wally at about 2:59.  I'm not sure that makes them a more imposing team though...how will Shaq look after playing 2 rounds deep into the playoffs night in and night out?

I would agree with you, but the Cavs are pretty deep. They would still have Wallace, Big-Z, Varejao if they gave up Wally. If they gave up Wallace they'd still have Big-Z and Varejao and would only need Shaq to play very short minutes. A tire Shaq is still a much better player than Ben Wallace.
agreed.  The team is too deep for Shaq to play heavy minutes and get fatigued.  I also don't see Cleveland having an extended series prior to playing the C's.  I see them winning their 2 early playoff series in either sweeps or maybe losing 1 game but definitely not more than that.  Shaq and the rest of the Bron-ettes will be plenty fresh for playing the C's.

Not a chance the Cavs swap out Wallace and add in Wally for Shaq.  Wally expires this year, Wallace expires next year.  If the Cavs trade Wally for Shaq they would have Wallace (15 mil) and Shaq (20 mil) on their roster next year.  They would be something like 25 million over the cap.  Gilbert isn't going to pay a 50 million dollar luxury tax
