So I'm watching Sports Center and Rick Bucher was talking about what superstars were going to be on the move by the deadline and he causally menationed that Golden State turned down a deal that was essentially Marcus Williams and Corey Maggette for Baron Davis.

1. Has anyone else heard/read about this?
2. Why in the world would Golden State turn this deal down?

Because Baron bolted on the Clips...Just because he is whining and wants to go back doesnt mean they should take him back.

But its an absolute no brainer. There's already recorded problems with Corey Maggette, and they desperately need a true PG to that lineup.

If you were saying that you'd have to give up Captain Jack, Ellis, Biedrinis and to a lesser degree Crawford I'd understand the argument.

But you're getting THE perfect player for the team (back) for a player who has an equally terrible contract and doesn't fit on the team at all. To me, it's completely absurd not to take this trade.

Plus, they'd still have a chance at landing Amare. Albeit a fairly minimal one.
