The only small forward type player I could see him being able to guard would be Wally Szczerbiak.

On second thought I think even Wally would out quick him and torch him big time.

Wally wouldn't be able to torch Tommy Heinsohn, now.

If Davis loses the requisite weight to play SF, he'd be out of the league.  The weight loss won't make him close to quick enough to guard any NBA 3.

Does anyone think Baby could develop a 3pt shot in the next few years? His mid-range jumpers seem to be dropping very nicely of late, I guess there's always a chance. It would certainly make him one of the more unique players in the league.

Obviously his hustle and offensive rebounding are working for him and he definently should spend most of his time in the paint, but perhaps a play to get baby open on the perimeter once or twice a game would be a good little weapon.

The only thing to add to what's been said is the how much he'd hurt us offensively too.  It'd be one thing if he was guarding some backup 3 who wasn't much of an offensive threat.  However, I'd also hate his lack of three point shot.  This team struggles enough to spread the floor when the Big Three are out.  The last thing we need to compliment our backup 2 who can't shoot a 3, is a backup 3 with the same problem.

SF would waste many of his other talents.  He's a pf with the ability to guard big players.  In that role he's fine.  Why would anyone want a small forward that big anyway?

Maybe they ought to try Rondo at center.  There's no way that Yao could stay in front of him!
