Willie Maye can take over until someone pelts him with a tray of nachos

Why did Willie get demoted.  I remember he used to do Dickerson's job as a game reporter.

He was terrible...and he is terrible at his stuff in the Garden now.  Every interview has at least 2-3 incredibly awkward moments that just make me cringe.  He seems like a nice guy and all, but he comes across as the townie doing a local cable access show, with no training in communications.

I have never been able to figure out how he got these gigs with the Celtics in the first place.

I stand by my choice  ;D  Thanks for reinforcing my point!

I don't know, after seeing the pic in that article I doubt the team would want to budget for that much Carmex  ;D

OK, point taken, but the Mascot itself (not the role it's played by the drunk inside it) is pretty awesome.
Yup

hmmm, I wonder...

Quote
Blust says that long before he was Lucky, he was a kid who made bad decisions. He says he has the kind of past you don't talk about, even though he plans to write a book about it. He acknowledges that the Celtics may not like what he has to say.

''I may have to wait until I'm not Lucky anymore," Blust says, cryptically.

OK, here's a stupid question.  If we can have 500 different Batmans (Batmen?) is it beyond the realm of possibility that the fans would somehow buy into there being a different guy wearing the same clothes doing the same stuff, or is this guy actually truly part leprechaun?

Are the Celts just done with the act?  Do they own the act or does the guy own the act?  So many questions...
Yup

Lucky was always great with kids and always seemed like a nice guy to me. Not what I go to the Garden for but he always got the crowd excited for his dipsy do for two. Best of luck Mr. Blust (maybe his name was too close to Blount!)

thats not the tree's only transgression though, its been thrown out of multiple events (as multiple diffrent people, i think like 4 seprate kids have been hauled out of that thing drunk.)

So is his job up for grabs?

I would do such a better job taunting the opposition it's not even funny.

I guess basically what I'm getting at are...WHEN ARE THE TRYOUTS? ;D

i do feel kind of bad for the guy though, he's not exactly in a growth industry.

How does he get a job now? discredit some other dunking mascot through a smear campaing?

Well, I am pretty sure the C's own the rights to "Lucky the Leprechaun".  So I would not be surprised if he is simply replaced.  But I would imagine it won't be that easy to find someone to step in, who can do the same things...but perhaps they will find a new Lucky with different talents.  Maybe one of those girls who spins bowls is looking for a new gig?
