You know, it never added up to me that Steph would slide back to the negotiating table (for his buyout) stating that he had an offer to play somewhere to make up for the $1M he'd be willing to get bought out for.  To me, that smacked of tampering by whomever he would have the offer from.  So I brushed it off as Steph being Steph or faulty reporting.

Maybe not.  This link seems to think that the Greek team that signed Childress might be interested.

Well, the Knicks gave him permission to speak with other teams, so I don't think tampering is an issue.

Marbury did say at one point that he wanted to play in Europe, but I am pretty sure it was Italy...because his wife liked it there.

Well, Marbury did say that the team he ended up going to would "shock" people.  I'm not sure anything a guy with a tattoo on his head does could be considered shocking, but this would be the closest thing.

Yawm. Greek press is very inventive. Although Marbury playing Euroball would be an odd thing to see, it's an idea that amuses me. And of course Olympiakos can survive EL top16 without Childress.

Fixed.

Supposedly if he's willing to give back 2 mil the Knicks will finally buy him out.

he offers 1 million and dolan responds they want 2 million and it's a matter of principle???? the knicks are continuing to embarass themselves. everyone already knows marbury and the b.s. he's pulled. he made his own bed. the knicks don't have to do this. this just looks pathetic.they're playing kids' games.

Cordobes is more than right about the greek press.  ;D

Olympiacos has some problems with Childress. First of all he is injured and he will be off for 1-1.5 month during an important part of Greek League and the Euroleague. Also JC´s performance wasn´t as ggod as many thought they would be.

I wouldn´t consider the rumour 100% fake though. Olympiacos needs desperatly a point guard and at this point of the season player shopping is difficult.

PS Who is Starmopoulos ?

I just heard on WEEI that Marbury supposedly has a $15M offer from Greece. :o  Not sure how true this is though.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Everyone seems to dislike Marbury, but we all have something in common with him. When asked about Olympiakos, "I will listen to what they have to say," Marbury wrote in an e-mail to Marc Berman. "I will never close the door that has not been opened."

Much like Marbury, when I see a door that isn't open, I never close it.

It seems that Olympiacos won`t sign Marbury (or M. won`t sign with Olympiacos). They are already after J. Pargo (sp?). He`s got a 3.5m contract with Dynamo Moscow but the global financial problems are starting to affect the Russian high spenders and they can`t afford his salary.

So joy to all Cs fans :D :D :D Msrbury is still available !  ;D
