If this trade where to go down, I think Oklahoma would have enough trade offers to trade him again prior to the deadline. Exchange expiring contracts and pick up another second round pick, something of that nature.

But should he get waived, yes, I think he'd be a very good option for the Celtics.

I'm down with the C's picking up Stack. He's got the size they need as a 2/3.

So why do we need another 6'6" tweener and an old banged up one at that. Not sure. Rather have a solid backup PG or a big. of course a 6' 8" slasher would be nice; but he is none of those at this stage in his career.

How is he a tweener?  He is a prototypical wing.  Although I won't argue about the old part.  I just looked at his stats, and he definitely is looking more cooked than I thought.

Still better than Tony Allen, I think. Beggars can't be choosers.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Is he on the block?  I thought Utah was really happy over the trade that brought him over from Philly...

Also, if the Cs used Pruitt as the backup PG, then House could play as a SG and suddenly the Cs would basically have a Korver-like player.
Celtics fan for life.

Actually, I always thought Korver was a very underrated defender.  I remember being very impressed with him when he was on Philly.  Certainly not a shut-down guy, but he had the athleticism to stay in front of guys, and seemed to understand where he should be.

I think Korver would be an awesome pickup for this team...but unfortunately, I don't see us having the pieces to get him.  He is a valuable player in Utah, and the C's just don't really have much that would entice them.

I was reading on Hoopshype that Dallas is now shopping Howard. That made me go Hmmmmmmm.
Any conversation about Howard will start with Ray Allen.  I would still say: hmmmmm.

Ray and Baby for Howard and Terry or Howard and Dampier?

I just know they're overloaded at the 2. I assume they're happy with him but he's reasonably pricey and Miller is a self-proclaimed luxery tax refuser who has to pay big money to boozer, millsap, or both. Another desparate thought: is there a coach in the league who might like scal more than Jerry Sloan? Plays D, hit a couple of shots, etc etc. on the chance they liked what they saw of either Giddens or Walker (though I really don't want to give up Walker here), could be doable.

i know, i know, it looks like **** on paper. But maybe there's a variation in there....

I agree with Who. Even if this trade goes down - and I'm not sure if that's going to happen anytime soon, I can see a contender trading another expiring contract and a 2nd round pick or cash considerations for Stackhouse.

I don't think we have the slightest chance of getting Korver (I also like him).

I like the idea of a Stackhouse pick-up. Can score and play the 2 and the 3.

Korver comes out of a college program that demanded defense.

I suspect he'd play it if you demanded it of him.

With that said, I can't see him being moved.

Stackhouse? Anything left in that tank?
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Just want to point out that over his career Jerry Stackhouse hasn't been considered the best of locker room guys and went so far as to hold up an entire trade for Kidd because he didn't want to be traded. I don't remember all the details. But both in Philly and Detroit Stackhouse was not looked upon favorably as a "Team" type of guy.

Devean George was the one that held the Kidd trade up.  George didnt want to agree to the trade because he would have to waive his bird rights in the process.  Stackhouse didnt have a problem with the trade, mainly because the Nets and the Mavs had an under the table handshake that theyd buyout Stackhouse so he could come right back to Dallas, Devean George spent so much time complaining about the trade, the Stackhouse buyout eventually leaked and it turned into a huge mess.

Ive never heard anything about Stackhouse being a bad locker room guy, Ive just always viewed him in a similar way to Vince Carter, a guy who has a lot of talent but is a horrible leader and wants the team centered about him, which always translated to lackluster teams (Detriot and Washington).  Just because the guy is a horrible leader doesnt make him a bad locker room guy, it just means he'd be more suitable for a secondary role or even less of a role on a team, which hes seem to accepted in Dallas.

All in all, hes old and definetly wouldnt be my first choice, but we need scoring off the bench, if hes the best available and we can get him, then why not, we're startin to get to a point where we're starting to sit on our hands too long.
