Well, there's a reason that they're in the D League and not competing for a spot on an NBA roster...

Yup.

1. There playing on a defending champion with Rotation spots basically locked.
2. They are playing at positions where we're pretty deep at, for the most part.
3. They are playing under a coach who isn't big on inexperienced young guys.

On a crap team they'd be getting time.

thanks to everyone for posting great info and insights on the baby c's down in the d league. your takes are informative and insightful.

a couples of questions for everyone...

(1) in terms of defense how do walker and giddens look?

(2) what skills do each of them have to work on most to contribute to the c's/play in the nba?

thanks in advance.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

You forgot the most important reason...they are both not prepared either mentally (Giddens), or skillwise (Walker) to be playing meaningful minutes for the Celtics.

I agree that they would be playing on a crap team, but I don't neccesarily think it would be a good thing for their overall development.

JR has had 2 solid games in a row the last couple of nights. 25 points/8 rebs in the first. 24 points/10 rebs in the second. Mentally he may not be ready yet but his confidence is certainly growing down there. Hopefully when he is recalled the game will slow down for him and he'll be able to contribute. I don't expect to see much of him this year but I definitely think Giddens has a future here.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

Walker's main issue is his foul trouble, he always seems to be in trouble in the second quarter.

They both could use some work on their outside shot.

Neither of them are incredible defenders but they have skills that can help.both are good at steals and have the up's to get some blocks. overall though, Giddens is the better defender.
