John Farrell's funny. ;D Remember when he wanted to kill the Mariner Moose? We simply ran out of pitchers this game. Drew wasn't available and we had to go to Timlin.

The umpires decided this outcome.  I guess they were tired and wanted to go home.  How in the world was that pitch that Farrell got thrown out arguing NOT a called strike??  How did was the TB player (?) NOT called for going around on the third strike.  That would have been two outs with men on first and second, NOT two outs with men on second and third.  A HUUUUUUUGE difference.

Why can the players NOT decide these games??  I feel that I just wasted much of my life watching a game that was just decided by the umpires.  Very, very sad.

Another mistake by francona was to have Beckett out there for so long.

Beckett i think is done, he is not his old self this year. I rather have byrd in his spot

That's really where I think the blame lies. I can whine about Timlin all I want but I knew going into the game that he sucked, and that he was a last option. Josh Beckett has been so '06 lately. Oh well, hopefully Lester continues his string of dominance and then there's a heck of a lotta rain, or snow.....

Yeah ump definitely wanted to go to bed last night, kind of screwed up the game, at least it wasn't a big game right?

As much as I hate Timlin he pitched better than he normally does. That awful Ump decided the game. Calls Kotsay out on an outside pitch with two guys on and then the same pitch on a 3-2 count is a walk to lead off the next inning for the Rays. Then he squeezed him on the Zobrist AB and that was it. I had losing a game because of an umo, they didn't get a hit that inning and Timlin was even pitching wild or anything. David Price gets calls Timlin can't get, he's been in the league like a month.

I just remembered something that I have to share about when Ellsbury mis-bunted and nearly broke his face. Did anyone else get fooled, if only for a split second, when they replayed it at full speed? I thought to myself for a second " No way did that just happen again! :o", and I was right.

Yes, but he's been wrong every time he's elected to pitch Timlin in anything but a mop-up role this year.  No doubt Byrd was the better choice, and also Byrd was the better choice than Beckett to start the 5th.  This is Terry's worst playoff game to date, hands down.
