Here are some the Celtics player ratings if anyone is interested.

Is that Perk I spot what a 75 overall?

What exactly are these guys on?

actually, i think a 75 is about right for perk, thats a pretty decent center grade. i mean, perk is a great part of our system, but he's no star. a 75 is fine for a defensive oriented center with limited offense skills..

more suspect is pierce's B- for an inside game, when slashing is where he makes his living, and A from the perimeter.  I would say its more like B to B+ from the perimeter and A from inside.

Does anyone have a recommendation on whether 2k9 or NBA Live '09 is going to be better on the Wii?  I know a lot of people have their preferences for some of the other systems, but I haven't heard much for the wii.

I've heard sports games are ridiculously hard on the wii.... I have one, but tend to drive in circles and hurt my gf's self esteem in Mario Kart

75 is just about right for Perk. But I don't think Powe should be rated higher than him.

im still shocked by paul's B- for the inside game. unless they changed that stat to mean Just low post moves, thats a huge error. the pierce in the ratings here, with his A- outside game and B+ mid, seems to have been made a heavy jump shooter with limited finshing abilitys.

nothing could be farther from the truth of paul's game. He's one of the best "at the rim" finishers in the game. Just because he doesn't dunk as much as he used to doesn't mean he's not super efficient in the paint, its still his most dangerous area on the floor.

but from these ratings, he's more a beefed up ricky davis than the paul we all know and love.

Perks rating is fine, honestly he is just there to take up some space and get some garbage buckets.  Just like in real life.  If he was rated 80+ the Celtics starting 5 would be ridiculous.

I'm glad that Rondo is an 83, a much needed improvement.  He doesn't need to be the main guy, but he needs to be able to finish in the paint (like he can IRL), and hit that 15 footer a fair bit of the time.  In 2k8, Rondo had to have a wide open lane to the rack or he would miss, and shooting with him was almost laughable.  I can't wait for 2k9.

1 week away from the game's release........ it'll be nice to have the Celtics as a default team in the game...... espcially since KG is the coverboy

It'll be nice to see the Celtics/Lakers demo for 2k9 if it actually comes out before the game, either way October 7th I'll be at Gamestop buying it, by far my favorite game.

Sooo....JR Smith's 3pt rating is higher than Ray Allen...

WHAT!?!

are you serious?

wow.....

Yeah. As much as I love 2k... and I mean love... I have one major gripe this year: their ratings. Their three-point ratings, for example, are ridiculous. Peja's is 99, Nash's is 97, Raja Bell's is 96, Baron Davis' is 95, etc. Those must be lowered.

They also have some other whacked out ratings. For example, Malik Allen is 75 overall while Rodney Stuckey is 74. Chris Quinn is 76 while Kyle Lowry is 71.

Amare Stoudemire's post defense grade: A. Al Jefferson's? B. Kendrick Perkins? C+.

With all of that said, it's all easily adjustable. If you're an online player, they'll be shelling out constant updates (and they'll even add new animations as the season progresses). If you're strictly an offline player, like me, you can manually adjust the ratings (and even fix incorrect contracts) to whatever you like.

Oi...that has got me tempering my expectations a bit. I love when people abuse good 3-point shooters online, and I'm sure Peja at 99 should make for a fun time.

Perkins rated that low on post defense is really surprising, too. You'd think he'd have earned some respect, because I don't think he was lower than that last year.
