Quite impressive, I think. The only thing I wonder about is the ethics of what his father is doing. How much of this effort is out of Marquise's desire to play ball, and how much of it is out of his desire to please dad? Who knows....

That kid is amazing.

I didn't even think an 8 year old would have enough strength to shoot from that kind of range. I'm afraid his dad is pushing him too much.

Pretty crazy. Being so low to the ground only makes his dribbling skills that much more effective.

The methodical hype is sort of twisted.

Lebron sure seemed warm in the photo op - didn't even take off the headphones.  I'm not knocking Lebron, more so just the token appearance this kid's manager set up.  Teaching him the value of being superficial.  Super  ::)

It may be a little much, however two quick points:

1- His dad is spending a huge amount of time with his son which is a great thing that many kids would love to be able to do.
2- He clearly enjoys playing basketball. To put in the kind of work it takes to be able to handle the ball like that wouldn't happen if he was being forced to play.  He wants to be there and enjoys being good at it. You can tell from the way he plays.

I don't think I love the "creation of a following" orchestrated by his dad and this guy, but there are a lot of worse things this kid could be doing with his time. Being busy keeps kids out of trouble.

What happened to Mark Walker JR who made like 18 shots in a row when he was 3 years old in 2002. He could prolly take Marquise now.

Aha. They weren't even 3's. They were layups in an 8 feet hoop. Marquise destroys Mark on a one vs one.

This could all coincide with the NBA's new startup league, the PSBA, PreSchool Basketball Association - coming to a daycare near you, sponsered by pedialite

Never mind the bomb, the kid needs to learn the true legacy of his name is the Wiggle.  Learn it and you'll have the life your father dreamed for you.

having a dad really get their kid into basketball is not unique....

remember pete maravich's dad? made him dribble basketballs everyplace.

hope this kid turns out with a better relationship with his dad.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

What do you mean baout 3s. When Mark Walker was 6 years old in 2005 he was draining half court shots!

He was 3 years old. ofcourse he couldnt shoot on a 10 foot hoop yet. and those 18 shots weren't layups

Anyways lets see how big Marquise will be in the future. If you've noticed most good NBA players 6 feet and under have blinding speed. Those who don't end up being Troy Bell and JJ Redick.

All I have to say is look at teh relationship between Earl Woods and Tiger Woods.  If You-Tube was around back when Tiger was growning up Earl would had done the same thing.  Whole wait a minute Earl did have a young Tiger make an appearance on the Tonight Show when Tiger was like 5 years olds.  My point is what Marquise Walker dad is doing is not different then any Father who notices his child has a great talent.  It just that nowadays we have You-Tube where a person can use as his own marketing tool.
