Wait... let me get this straight...

Lakers were the favor in the final despite losing both regular season games and having an inferior record...

ok...

Laker is favor to win now despite we beat lakers 4-2, won 6 out of 8 games last season, and lost just 2 close games in LA...

All this because they got back a center that just had a knee surgery, and celtics lost an important role player?

help me out please...

12 of the 25 "experts" at ESPN predict the Lakers to win the Title next season.

Boston finished 3rd behind New Orleans...

that's the way it has always been. If it was the other way around, then I would be worried. In the end the celtics will enjoy proving the experts wrong again.

I'd kind of prefer for it to be this way.  Gives the team a slight chip on their shoulder, but I don't think they're worried about what 'experts' say anyways.  The players play the game not analysts.

Celtics were the best tea in the NBA last year from start to finish, even thought these so called experts picked LA in the Finals.

Let the Celtics keep the role of the disrespected team with something to prove.  They will win another title and prove these guys wrong again.

My only question is if we beat the Lakers in the finals for a second straight year, will we be the favorites the following year?
"Coach you were 24 and 58 last year, why the playoff talk?"
"Well we made a couple of key trades . . . and we got The Funk."

If it wasn't for Bill Simmons, I would never venture to ESPN.com.

Of course they're favored to win.  Don't forget they'll be getting back the 7 footer who at 21 is already coming off a major knee injury and who has never played serious minutes in a meaningful NBA game in his life.

While I think we should be the favorites, I don't think the Lakers should be underestimated. I look at them as a very close second. Bynum is a good developing young star if he's healthy, and he'll make Gasol better too. Perk is the only guy on the team who can bang with Bynum, and Perk is injury prone himself.

But I do look for the Celtics to become even more efficient in their second year together. Maybe one of the more efficient teams of all time.

I think it motivates these guys to prove the "experts" wrong. I'd rather be the underdog. Assuming you are going to win. puts a team in a paranoid position not to lose.
No more waiting

I picked against them for 3 rounds last year.  Apparently my hatred for the purple and gold doesn't actually have much effect on the outcomes of these series.
