Thats true Gainsville, but I like this way because it allows people to kind of sort things out on their own.

The way the results will show, it will look something like this:

Team X average position: 1.29
Team y average position 2.28
Team Z average position: 2.49

It looks way cooler.

Yeah, it will definitely allow for some separation, to show the "tiers" of the playoff teams.

Hmmm., maybe i'm just not smart enough to follow (a distinct possiblity), but for example:

Let's say everyone agree's with me the the 2nd place teams are: MIN, GSW, DAL ---- they'd all come out as avg. pos of 2.00 but IMO DAL is better than MIN....even though i voted both 2nd in their divisions. I guess I don't see how this shows that (is it if a few vote DAL 1st, they'll have a higher score than MIN? seems too small a sample size (based on voting thus far ~ 20-30 votes/division) to show that... like i said, maybe i'm just not following it.

sorry to be a pain.  :)

I thought we did that at the top of each division's press conference  --- Rockets, Blazers and Warriors won their respective divisions....

Yes, those polls were preliminary to give GMs a better sense of where they stood, and were followed by a second trade deadline (maybe easy to forget because nothing got done).

Anyway, I look forward to the results, though I fully expect other GMs will continue to underestimate Memphis and, fair warning, I'm not above posting an "I told you so" when Bynum, Fernandez and Westbrook are tearing up the league.

Quote
McMillan said that early in the Olympics, after watching Rudy Fernandez in Spain's second game, he had a fitful night of sleep.

"I was so impressed with him that it was to the point where after the second time I saw him, I didn't sleep that night because I was moving my rotations around," McMillan said. "I swear I did not sleep. I could not sleep thinking about him. Because I'm saying, 'We can put him here, do this with him, do that with him and Brandon (Roy), and do this . . .' So he's playing for us. Oh yeah. I see that right now."

I guess if someone wanted to go to the trouble. They'd have to be a complete tool though.
