Obie was ions better than Rivers ever will be.  He got marginal players and his best players to maximize their abilites and play as a team.   Rivers turned the same players into malcontents and one-way players.

I am by no means saying that Doc deserves to be on the best list, in fact like I said in my earlier post, hed be on top of my worst to win a title list.

However I think a lot of you are overlooking what Doc did last year.  You say Danny idiot proofed the roster, and the team was loaded with stars, so how he could he not win?  Well if thats the case then how come the redskins havent won a super bowl since Dan Snyder took over?? how come the Dallas Mavericks havent won a title yet?? why havent the yankees won a series since like 1999???   There is a lot of merit in what Doc did this year, he got an entire team to play together and win a title.  Yes, he did have a FANTASTIC defensive coach, but Tom Thibedoux(sp?) is a disciple of Dick Harter, who in fact was the defensive coach for Jim Obrien, who you say is so much better.

Yes Obrien got the team to play to its best capability with the players he had, but lets not over glorify him here.  He let Paul and Antoine do whatever the h*** they wanted on the offensive end, and ANYONE the entire offense was based on shooting 3's.  Obriens gameplan was to hope his team shot 35-40% on threes for the game, and if the team played defense well enough it would amount to a victory.  I dont understand whats so great in that, or even more so, how it makes him better than Doc.  Yeah, we made it to the eastern conf finals, but do you remember how weak the East was back then???

Give Doc some credit.
