hey so i'm new to all this this year and joined kinda late, so i have a couple questions...

what happens when the draft dust clears? are we setting up a voting system to decide what teams advance into/through the playoffs? (if so, do you open the voting to all of celticsblog? cuz i think that would be pretty cool)

Basically i'm just wondering where this all goes post-draft, thanks.

I'm kind of wondering the same.  I'm guessing if Marcus Williams comes out averaging a triple double in GS his stock rises and if Michael Beasley forgets how to jump his stock goes down.
Yup

There will be some sort of voting, which would be open to everyone on the blog (although we obviously can't guarantee that people who weren't involved will participate).

I'm not sure if wdleehi's plan is to actually try to determine the 16 playoff teams, just division winners, just the champion, etc.  There's also been talk of voting for the best "team of the future", etc.

People have also talked about putting our rosters into either a computer simulator or one of the console games (NBA Live, NBA 2k9) and simulating our season to determine a winner.  If somebody can *firmly* commit to that, I'm sure it would be much appreciated.

Beasley forget how to jump?  Redz, Redz, Redz, Redz, Redz...  perhaps you forgot that Beasley can not only jump, but in fact has great Second Jumpability.

Sadly, Qyntel Woods is not eligible for our rosters this year, as he signed a contract in Italy this week.  I know you guys were all salivating about drafting a drug-using, dog-fighting player with the IQ of a fruit fly.  Sadly, we'll all have to wait until next year.

(Earl Barron just left for Italy, too.)

I'll just use a 15th rounder on Michael Vick, and hold his rights for the next 20 months (maybe 16, with time off for good behavior).

While we're on the subject, i'll reiterate my idea:

After or during the press conferences, have each team rank the teams in the other conference to determine seeding (the other to avoid everyone putting themselves #1?).  If GMs commit to doing this, i'd commit to tabulating the results.

Then the voting begins.... basically we have the 1-8 matchup posted, each team writes why they will win, and folks (other CB readers hopefully --- maybe a post on the front page?) would vote to see who advances.

Despite what we decide, i think that when nba2k9 comes out, someone will have to input these teams just for the hell of it.  It would be pretty sweet to see who wins individual awards and how well our teams actually gell (jell?).

The Bucks select Jason Smith make that Ryan Anderson

He'll be injured for most of this season but we love his size and skill for the future. His ability to step out and hit the perimeter shot and open up the floor for our other post up options like Carmelo an Speights down low.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

with regards to these press conferences, are we all given a specific time? or is it just random and off the cuff?

lucky - just getting back to you now.

Last year, we went in alphabetical order, an average of one team a day. I think that worked well.
