I am psyched for next season, I predict the C's will again have the best record and home court throughout the playoffs...
Now, on to 18...

I'm really happy.

You can hate on Tony Allen all you want, but I'm psyched for the guy.

his knee surgery is going to be 18 months behind him at the start of the season.

I don't know how many of you know this, but that is the general time frame of when someone who sustained the injury Tony did, to be 100% again.

He's going to get more minutes, he'll be relied on for defensive stops, and will have a chance to slash without worrying about getting benched every 25 seconds.

I'm sure there is going to be lots of trash talking about his poor decision making or his goofiness.

Still mark me down as someone who is [dang] happy Tony Allen is still a Celtics!

Fair or bad weather
I'll always be a fan of the green

Given Danny's past comments regarding rookie players, i'm sure one bright side of not signing posey using the full MLE is that allows us to use it to lock in our rookie 'high potential' guys to contracts beyond 3 years.

I'd look for at least one of the rookies to be signed using a portion of the remaining MLE.

Then the team is doing a terrible job getting ready for next year.

They need real experience off the bench.

The first three of House, TA and Powe only scares the Celtics.

I couldn't disagree more.

Each of these three are hard-nosed Celtic defenders who can play 2 positions, and each has championship experience.

With these 3 coming off our bench, we will again have the best record in the league.

If you don't think Powe proved his place on this team after this last season's playoffs, you'll never like him.  And shame on you for that.

Eddie House isn't just a PG who only shoots.  He brings energy to every inch of the court.  No, he's not a playmaker.  But you don't need one position to always make the plays.  We have some other decent players you might have heard of who from time to time can get their own shot.

Tony Allen is... Tony Allen.  We'll see what we get.

I'd rather have had Posey.  But not at the price.

everyone forgets that we were doing quite well during the season before we got cassell and pj. we really had no good backup center to perkins at that point and house wasn't a true point guard.

Become Legendary.

We're going in the right direction.
No one here really knows how effective our bench can be, all we can do is speculate. Until we actually see them play together will never know. Our bench hasn't changed much from where we started past season except for Posey (Replaced by Giddens and Walker) and Pollard (Replaced O'Bryant). Our Achilles' heel will be SIZE. Currently, we have 3 player above 6-9 (actually 4 w/Scal). Now the remaining piece will be PJ's replacement, the only guy who can fill PJ's Shoes is Kurt Thomas. His 3 years younger than PJ, Plays D, and he has a nice jump shot. I'll continue to be weary until K-Thomas wears Green next season.

Can we really call the amount of time Tony Allen played in the Finals "championship experience"?

Rookies are for the future but giddens was a sr in college, obryant already has two years of nba experience(well sitting in the bench being hungry), pruitt also was part of the celtics championship team from the sidelines hungry for a spot. (rookies also have only a 2 year span to prove themselves in todays nba)

If the celts sign another vet like say lindsay hunter, or mourning for a 1 year thing at vet min, by all means do it for leadership purposes

With the big three we really don't have much time to distrute much at the bench anyways, i'am saying we have the necessary bench to repeat again and its good to give rookies some times also

kurt thomas is not goint to be cheap. He prob wants upward of 4 million per year for 2 years . We don't have that kind of money anywhere. Pollard btw was suppose to be the pj brown for this team until he got injured. So if you say obryant is pollard substitute he is then also the pj brown substitue. I think we are ok now with obryant in regards to the height deparmtment. Most team only have  if lucky 4 guys 6'10 and over and we have 3.

I don't discount ant of the efforts we got from the Big 15 last year.

Tony has played in plenty of big games and should be ready.  If not, we still have an extra roster spot and 2 hungry rookies waiting in the wings.

I like our bench for a couple of reasons.  We didn't change many parts, and no one was signed to long term deals.  I also like the upside we have added this year with JR, Walker, and OBryant.  One of those 3 will crack the rotation.

As for our current 8 man rotation:  House, Allen, and Powe are ideal for the regular season.  We will need to use the 15th roster spot wisely for the playoffs however.

We need more than an 8 man rotation for the regular season.  I think teams use like an 11-12 man rotation in the reg. season.  It doesn't get shortened down to 8-9 until playoff time.

All I can say is that I am so relieved. I like both playwers immensely. To replace Eddie House's drive and passion would be difficult. His defense, shooting are supberb, and he is improving a lot as a playmaker. We all can really see that he is trying to make more play7s out there at the point. Cousy commented late in the year about that. TA. One of these games. One of these games. He is capable of being so much much more than he is now.Truly he can be a nightmare on defense for shooting guards. He just must relax a bit. Heh, he has come a long way from his past and all of us wish him so much luck.

I don't think the lineup is set. I'm sure there will be 1 more player added before camp starts.

I'm also really liking the fact that the C's are setting up to be players (probably via trades) during the 09-10 season... before the big FA class of 2010.
