well, in addition to the highlight reels of his dunks, first I watched this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhCjYEfBr3M&feature=relatedI'm not saying these clips are much of anything to go on, but they made me feel a lot better about the pick then just watching video of him in 2008 NCAA slam dunk contest and other such highlights. If you listen to the kid it sounds like he has matured and is now saying/doing the right things on and off the court.
People make mistakes, people learn/grow/mature as individuals. He has the talent and I trust that Danny has done his research. Interestingly I think that Walker's draft position would have been closer where we took Giddens in the late 1st round, except for the three knee injuries. To me the repeated knee issues in both knees concerns me a lot more than what I'm hearing about JR. And considering where Walker was picked (47?) and what we gave up for him, I'm not concerned with taking him at all. Both of them low risk, high reward picks. More than just talent wise I feel that JR Giddens will fit in well with this team's attitude and chemistry. I think it's inappropriate to assume at this point that he'll have Marbury or Artest-type character issues.
