All this being said he is the one player I would like to see on the C's bench.  He has more fire then the rest of the Lakers bench combined.  He single handed won game 3. Last night the experience of Ray used that aggressiveness to our advantage.

Hate all you want, but cough up respect where it is deserved.

Did you see how he LET Ray Allen blow by him in that last layup.  How could you possibly respect that?  That was the biggest defensive possession of their season and he didn't even give them a chance, I don't want a loser like that on my team.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

A true basketball fan does not make fun of anyone in the NBA - remember just to be considered for an NBA team is a success. The one thing I am embarrassed about are the fair weather Boston Celtic fans - the ones who last season couldn't say enough bad things about the Celtics - the ones who were calling for Doc's resignation, saying that Danny was a failure - the same ones that this winning season are wearing their greens as if they were die hard, all weather fans, the ones that make fun of the Sasha Vujacic's. Ray Allens drive against Vujacic wasn't the winning move of the game - the whole fourth quarter was.

There is this guy named Allen Iverson who couldn't stop Ray Allen either.  Just saying. I don't think there are many guys who can really stop Ray in the open court like that. If you've ever sat close to the floor for a Celts game you know that he is lightning quick.  Also, it was a good play by Sasha not to foul because that is basically conceeding 2 points.  He should have had help from both sides and they should have made Ray kick it out and the Celtics make a jump shot.

Thanks for the downer.  These are the Lakers we're talking about.  Of course we can rationalize that these guys are better than 99.999999% of all basketball players walking the earth and we can respect that.  What we can't respect is that they play for a despicable team, that wears despicable uniforms, and Vujacic is one of the more despicable of all of the despicable.  The point isn't that he, or the Lakers, aren't more talented hoopsters than any of us could ever dream.  The point is that they are WORSE than our beloved Celtics and Vujacic got smoked bad in a clutch situation and cried about it.

Therefore, we, as fans of the victors, are quite entitled to make fun of him - and enjoy the hell out of it.

What do people expect?  He's a Euro...and a Laker....they whine, shoot jumpers, pretend to play defense and rebound, and look pretty.

I agree with you on 5 of the 6.

TP to the OP for this awesome thread!  But I do agree with some of the sentiment that Sasha, while we can hate him now as a Laker, wouldn't be a bad complement to the Cs bench.  Cs are pretty deep at all positions except SG.
Celtics fan for life.

I think he looks a lot like Andrew WK, which is a shame because I like Andrew WK. Maybe he can look like this CD cover in game 5.

I think I called that we would hate Sasha the worst after this series. I want a montage of that clip of Sasha fistpmping during the big lead on the bench to the crying on the bench. Epic..

Before the series started I began a thread asking which Laker we hated the most.  I chose Vujacic as number one and he has confirmed my choice during this series.

Wow, glad the thread blew up...for the record, here's a more complete quote:

"The whole game, from the minute I came in, they called fouls on me. He fell down, foul. I was trying to find a way to guard him for 48 minutes, and everything I did was a foul. He got me. He went to the basket, and it was a good basket. I don't know what else to say,"

Again, Vujacic had 3 fouls in 25 minutes, and the "he fell down" refers to when Vujacic pulled Ray down on a rebound, then scissored his legs together to trip him on the way up, RIGHT IN FRONT of the referee.  They even super-slo-mo'ed it, for Pete's sake.

That tripping incident should have not only been a foul but also a technical. If that wasn't a textbook case of a player trying to injure another player then I don't know what is?

absolutely. that is ten times worse than a clear path foul, which is typically a good by the book basketball play (preventing an uncontested layup).

he is lucky ray-ray did not lay the smack down, and then pull a brutus beefcake on him and cut all his hair off.
"Maybe now you'll never slime a guy with a positron collider, huh?"
