The Lakers and Yankees... joining evil forces.... I have a knew most hated "team".

Much as I hate both the Yankees and Lakers, this whole thing is a great example of why both Curt and Kobe need to keep their mouths shut ... unless they start using their brains first, (I'm not holding my breath).

I dislike Kobe, but Schilling needs to know his place. This is like Lamar Odom calling out Tom Brady.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
remember, they believe themselves to be entertainers as well as athletes (and sometimes it's hard to know which order).

i saw the press conference - it was a stupid, but most likely, a necessary question.  i'll give kobe the benefit of the doubt - he wanted to avoid it, but came back with the "go yankees" line...honestly, it did kinda bring a smile to my face as it was a pretty good comeback.

Great response from Kobe, quick witted.  What else is he supposed to do?  What's the point of calling out a baffoon like Schilling?
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

That wasn't a quick witty comeback.... that was lame..... if that's all Kobe can think, then he ain't that quick witted.....

A good comeback would have been : " Instead of yelling at my teammates, I guess I should punch them like the Sox do " or " I thought Schilling retired?"

Well they're all along the same line.  They're all funny.  Kobe knows he's the enemy here, what better way to rile up Boston than by saying Go Yankees?

Hardly quick witted.  Schilling just spoke what is extremely obvious. If you don't know it's obvious, spend more time watching Kobe on the bench. I sit behind the visitor's, Kobe is a ****. LeBron suxs as a leader as well.

...but kobe's got rings.  i hate the guy, but i respect him.  i grew up on michael jordan (hated him too), but kobe's the closest thing to jordan we've seen.  and if i heard this correctly, i believe jordan never won his first title until he was 29...at the age of 28, kobe already has 3.

he can pretty much say what he wants about schilling, another fool who doesn't know his head from a hole in the ground.  schilling overstepped his bounds...i give kobe credit for being as polite as he was.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!  Isn't this just a whole buch of fun?  Wonder when Shilling will respond. Maybe on Tuesday after the Cs have wrapped this thing up?

What was Kobe supposed to say to his teammates?

"Guys, please player better...I'll take you guys out for pizza and ice cream after we play better"

The Lakers were getting their butts kicked by us....there was no room for nice words.

You are missing the point.  Kobe does this stuff in the beginning of the game as well. That is what Schilling said right off. Show us some fine examples of his great team leadership skillz.  No one said he wasn't a good player, he is just a crappy team mate.

Kobe and Shaq won rings.
