Haha I hope that debate is over.  I haven't checked out the box score yet, but I'm guessing that EHouse was about a +60 tonight.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

+20 (leads all Celtics).

What is interesting it Tony Allen is +10, but played only 2 mins and corralled one rebound (I did think it was a big rebound, though).
Celtics fan for life.

Interesting press conference from Kobe.  Old Kobe would've been short, contrite, not happy at all.  New, Happy, Good Teammate Kobe is telling jokes and hamming it up.  Old Kobe was a jerk.  New Kobe, still a jerk.  Old Kobe won rings, New Kobe has a lot to prove.

Absolutely inspiring, man ... I'm so proud of these guys .... after playing like total crap in the first half, dug in, did what they had to do, and showed what Celtic heart is all about! Pierce was just awesome, totally shutting down Kobe ... Ray was amazing, the consistent one ... Posey was huge, hitting big shots and playing big D ... and Eddie was truly great off the bench. What an incredible comeback, and one for the ages ... the kind of game you'll never forget, and be telling your grandchildren about. So sweet ... I loved this game ... so, so, so .... huge!!

I Love This Team!             This Is What Celtic Heart Is All About!            I Love This Team!            This Is What Celtic Heart Is All About!            I Love This Team!            This Is What Celtic Heart Is All About!            I Love This Team!            This Is What Celtic Heart Is All About!            I Love This Team!            This Is What Celtic Heart Is All About!            I Love This Team!
Celtic Pride Is Back!

The game is on again on ESPN ... I'm really going to just enjoy it this time ... now that I'm not losing my mind with tension ... especially the second half! Hope there are others out there enjoying it for the second time ... what an amazing comeback! (Sorry to quote myself, but I wanted to see that banner again!  ;))

just woke up and that game felt like a dream, I actually checked espn to make sure it was real =) and it was... I almost almost turned it off last night, and then I said, you know its not every so often your team is in the finals, the team you've been through the thick and thin with (mostly the thin, I'm 25) - and I watched, and I jumped and screamed all by my lonesome on my couch, and it was good.  This team showed things I didn't know they had tonight, their coach was on point, the superstars were super, the role players came up huge (especially POZ) - just an incredible, euphoric thing these boys did...still can't believe it

Dear Exam Timetable Man,
Never ever ever do that to me again.
I thought it would be a good idea to watch as much of the Celtics game as possible before leaving for my exam. This meant leaving for the exam at half time. Down 18. I return, 7 hours later ready to just sit and watch the final half of bball and see if we can pull it back and not be completely crushed. Those were the longest 7 hours of my life. I am very happy we won, but angry that I couldn't celebrate this with my fellow CelticsBloggers.
In the future please be more understanding and don't schedule an exam in the middle of a celtics game. If you don't schedule these exams at 3AM because people may be tired, you should be just as courteous to those of us with CCO (Chronic Celtics Obsession) and Green Thumbs.
I would also like you to contact the person who writes the maths exam, and request that every answer be '17'.
Thanks for your time, and I hope you understand my concerns for the future,
Yours Sincerely,
A Celtics fan in happy disbelief

Captain................ My Captain !!!!

Enough said.

But I must elaborate a tad.  Paul's defense against LeBron and Kobe has just been other worldly.  No other player on the planet could guard those two players as well as he has.  My man crush has just gone to a whole new level.  Exceptional work P.

Still one more win required.  All this hard work is for nothing without one more win.

What a comeback !!!!

Go the Green !!!!

Cheers

Aussie

I mostly do league-wide analysis, but I'm rooting hard for the Celtics in this series. I thought this community might be interested in seeing the plot of scoring over time for game 4:

The Green line is the Celtics' score over time, black is the Lakers. It's amazing to me to see how the Celts' slope steepens sharply midway through the second quarter, and then how the Lakers' slope flattens out shortly after halftime. Put those two shifts together, and you get a six-point win. (Incidentally, I describe the graph a little bit more detail, and have estimates of statistical contributions to winning here: http://arbitrarian.wordpress.com/2008/06/13/ray-allen-finals-mvp/ )

Notice it says "Average Lead: -10.9". This means that the are under the Celtics' line, minus the area under the Lakers' line is almost -11. An alternative way of thinking of it is that the average lead for the Lakers, compounded by the second, was 10.9 points. To trail by an average of almost eleven, and win by six is amazing. Way to go Celts!
