Laker fans can quit crying now. Free throw disparity was just as bad tonight as it was in game 2. Celts had their chances, but didn't get it done in the 4th quarter. About 5 bad possessions in a row with a slim lead did them in.

One thing I am getting royally sick of is the national media's adoration and almost blatant love for the Lakers. Just little things where they continually talk about what the Lakers need to do, or did wrong. Or not one word tonight about free throw disparity. Or talking about how the Lakers won despite bad games from Gasol and Odom. Always putting the Lakers first in any discussion about the games. Maybe I just have a complex, but it is getting fairly ridiculous. We are just a few jump shots away from this series being over after tonight's game and all I have heard all series is abour the Lakers.

P{retty funny, we had to guys in PP and KG that had bad games as well and still had a chance. The national media is so annoying in that way I agree.

C'mon, we are ok...let's face the facts:PP and KG combined for 8-35, we were awful at the line (even Ray missed a couple), KG missed 2 dunks on potential 3point plays, Kobe had 36, Sasha 20 and we almost got it!!

On the bright side, Ray is playing his best ball of the year and Red Auerbach, from wherever he is, almost twisted Rondo's ankle on purpose so Doc had to use Eddie a little bit and found out (what a surprise!) that we can use him to spread the floor!!!!

Let's beat LA!!!

Celtics played terrible tonight. The refs were bad, but you knew it was coming. The worst part is as, bad as we played, we were still in the game. The game was there for the taking but we blew it.

I was pretty sure all day long the Lakers were going to win this one. They do have Kobe, and were coming in with a chip on their shoulder on their home floor. We are definitely the superior team. One win out west and the Lakers are doomed. We will get this taken care of and I don't even think it will take seven games. Heck, we may not even see another game in Boston.

Cousy is right. Phill pulled a Cleveland on us. Rondo must take his shots; we can't allow Kobe to play in the passing lanes.

Besides that, we played very good defense.

As much as I hate to fan the flames, this takes the KG choke job reputation to a whole new level. This is why 85 percent of the fans didn't want to trade Al Jefferson for this guy. Even playing with two future Hall of Fame offensive players, he couldn't buy a bucket. What was KG tonight, our fourth option? Sixth? Time to step up, big fella.

Pierce didn't exactly set the world on fire offensively either. LOL

LET ALLEN GUARD K0BE ONE ON ONE LATE IN THE GAME!!
LIVE OR DIE WITH IT. LAKERS HAVE SHOOTERS ON THE FLOOR!!

Why wasn't Posey on Bryant?  He was in the game with Ray...... I also think Doc should not have put Rondo back in after he left wth his ankle, the game was flowing better with House out there even though he wasn't knocking down his shots ( he was still a threat that needed to be guarded)
Ray Allen was the only guy scoring the ball

Even with Paul struggling I don't want to take him out of the game. Offensively he's the most capable of getting into the paint and creating for either himself or his teammates. I'd rather run with those two than Posey.

The Lakers are going to play the same defense Thursday night.  If Rondo does not shoot, I do not think the Celtics can win.

And we ain't here, as much as I love Big Al, with AJ on this team and without KG. He stunk offensivly tonight but he also did D-up. I ain't bailing on KG now after one bad game. I was sad to see Big Al go but 85 percent of fans wouldn't make that trade now?

We played our worst game, ref's did what we knew they would do and we still could have/should have won this game. I ain't going all negative on this one. Proves we can and will win this series.

Some positive things to take away from this disgusting performance by the Celtics:

1. Pierce rarely has two horrible games in-a-row.
2. KG rarely has two horrible games in-a-row.
3. It's even more rare for both Pierce and KG to have two bad games in-a-row.
4. We still had a chance to steal this one despite playing poorly.
5. We still had a chance to steal this one despite the Lakers having a huge free-throw advantage.
6. We still had a chance to steal this one despite Kobe having a "big" game.
7. We finally saw Eddie House get some minutes, and he was great.
8. Cassell actually ran the fast-break a couple of times and attacked the basket, (though he didn't shoot well).
9. Paul's injury seems to be a non-factor, (he just played badly).
10. The trolls can no longer whine about the officials.
11. Kobe once again has had his "I am God" ego stroked by the Laker crowd and will be his regular arrogant, over-confident self in the next game.
12. We discovered who the best player is to defend Kobe, and who isn't.
13. Jack Nicholson has gained weight and looks like hell.

I don't even want to talk about this one much ... we never should have lost this game, and the dichotomy of this team at times is baffling. On to Game 4, Thursday.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
only one of our "expensive three" showed up tonight and we still almost won...

eddie misses a jumper to tie it...rubber band head hits a three - 5 point swing killed us.

i still believe the celt's will win game 4, lose game 5, and close it out at home...it's 1986 all over again.

Main concern I have is Rondo's ankle!

i am [dang] upset over this loss.
just remember what happened to the Lakers in '84 when they let Boston hang around too long ?

i hope that Doc can now see beyond his stubborness/stupidity and see that Cassell = Bad & House = Good.
House plays for the team and hustles. Cassell plays for himself and doesn't hustle. Easy choice Doc !!!!

We are up 2-1 and Perkins hasn't even shown up yet. what is the status of his ankle ?
why do the Celtics have three starters hurt and the Lakers are fine ??

we are fighting the injury bug, bad games by our stars, the referees and we are still ahead.
the answer to this is to keep bringing it - fight, fight, fight !!!

The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
