That is about as bad as it gets with refs.
Maybe Boston would have won anyway, but it would be nice to know rather than having to guess.
Thanks refs, for killing the joy of the game.  Horrible, horrible reffing.
Fixed?  Who knows... tainted?  Definitely... just an ugly unfair game.  Congrats.

Gimme a break, this coming from a team with Kobe who almost always getting the calls. Guess Celtics should be mad about the run the Lakers went on in the end of the game. There were some unfair non calls as people have mentioned Radmonovic traveling, etc. Sour grapes. Maybe the Lakers should focus on why they were down by more then 20. You can't blame the refs. Blame the Lakers they are the ones responsible for being 0-2 nothing else. I recall awhile ago the Kings were whining about reffing and the Lakers and their fans called them 'queens' Interesting how things change when things are not going the Lakers way isn't it? Lakers and their fans if they don't win are going to whine I see. You can go on and think that but it only makes the Lakers look like what they are--very sore losers. I am sure if the situation was reversed you would say the same thing if the Celtics were whining.

That was Shaq who began that, I believe (with Phil Jackson, who I'm sure is your favorite coach around these parts, picking up and running with it).

Laker fans are crybabies.  They haven't played a real defense so they are all bent out of shape.  Ask the Spurs about the refs...

Exactly according to the Lakers the only reason they ever lose is because of the refs. Guess that means all the teams they have played so far in the playoffs should be whining about the refs as well. LOL

  • Thanks Red
J.A. Adande wrote an article discussing the refs, however he says it was bad both ways....

Seriously I haven't seen such a sorry group of crybaby excuse makers ever.  Whaaa whaaa whaaa.  After game 1 it was just because Kobe missed his "bunnies"... it was because of the rims... it was because our defensive guru had an unfair advantage... it was because Paul Pierce was faking... whaaa whaaa whaaaaaa...

Now it's the refs and the lack of free throws... Leon Powe getting all the calls... whaaa whaaa whaaaa.   They don't get free throws, because they settle for jump shots.   Cry me a river.  You know what you do when the refs make bad calls?  You do like Paul Pierce did after they robbed him of a 4 point play in Detroit... you buckle down and get the job done.   None of these excuses and crying.

Exactly. Game 6 of the 2002 WCF was where laCkers shot 26 free throws in the 4th quarter. This is also when Bibby got elbowed by Kobe and got called for the foul. Pollard also got called for his 6th foul for not even touching Shaq. Ralph Nader wrote a letter to the NBA about the game, citing USA Today and the Washington Post as well as some other media networks. Here is an article about it: http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Articles/BacherNaderNBA.htm

Anyways, laCker fans are pathetic. Pierce dropped 28 with 4/4 from 3 point land, KG got a double-double, Rondo had 16 dimes, Powe exploded for  21 points off the bench, and the laCkers played like crap. This is why Boston won.

When you win a critical game in the WCF with a non-call obvious foul on one of SA's better free throw shooters at the buzzer, you can't complain. Win and die by the refs. Sure the Celtics were home and attacked the rim, and specifically avoided fouling: that leads to a free throw advantage. But Powe has a good PER without passing, with only okay shooting, and without steals and blocks. Why is that? Because he draws fouls like its his day job, which it is.

Good, i hope the continue to blame the refs (who did make a couple bad calls on them, but overall, thats what happens when you shoot jumpshot after endless jumpshot. see: us in the atlanta series)

as long as they continue to make excuses, mabey they won't pick up on the fact that thier interior defense is so soft its a joke.

sweet job letting leon powe go from the half court line to the flush with no one even thinking about stepping in front.

i mean, i love leon, but he's no round mound of rebound, barkley would have put up 75 points a game vs this interior defense.

all i could think about watching that replay was how little the lakers big men want a championship.

They're merely parroting the Feng Shui Master, who whines incessantly about the officiating. Because without such crooked officiating, the Feng Shui Genius would and should never lose.

 ;D

They've been outplayed on both ends of the floor.

And they are the worst defensive team we've faced in the playoffs.

You want the truth. You can't handle the truth. Or the Truth, for that matter.

the Celtics did not get to use officiating as an excuse during the Atlanta and first part of the Cleveland series when the the free throw advantages were so heavily in favor of the Hawks and Cavs...the Media's and public's perception was that the C's were just not that good of a team. Skrew the Lakers.

2 to go!

The refs have been ticky-tac all playoffs. I have never seen so many offensive fouls and illegal screens called. Kobe is a baby. He is getting the same calls that Perk and KG are picking fouls up on illegal screens.

I think the quick Techcical Foul Kobe got on that one play pretty much told us the refs aren't going to listen to his self centered egomanical crap any longer.
