Even though the series will be decided tomorrow, I'd still like to see the rest of the games just to see what happens.

Actually, my formally held secret hopes must now be revealed. I want the series to go 7, simply to watch more games, more drama... And I don't really care the order of  our Celtics 4 wins, even if that means they lock it up sooner  :) lol

I don't understand the language being used.  "We" = Lakers, and "win it here in game 5" = LA.  Did you copy and paste your post from lakers blog ?

They will play with their absolute best basketball Game 2, I know this team and I know they are unbeatable twice in a row.

Didn't Utah take two in a row from the vaunted Lakers in the second round?

Hahaha, gotta love to hate Lakers fans.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I always thought that in the NBA finals it was the team that won 4/7 games that won the championship?

I know this thread was started by a Fakers fan, but imagine the range of emotion on this blog if it was around in 1984.  We would've been dead after Game 1, feeling great after Game 2, and we would've been jumping off the Zacom (even though it wasn't there yet) after Game 3.

Point is, 7 game series are long.  Just ask Dallas.  I think we will be in great shape if we win Game 2.  However if the Lakers mirror our accomplishment then it's a pivotal Game 5.  In the 2-3-2 if they win Game 5, we still have a better shot at coming back than in a normal series because the last two are in Boston.  Every game is so emotional and the winners will feel on top of the world and the losers will feel awful.  The series will not be decided no matter who wins Game 2.

I believe it was Bill Fitch who said something along the lines that the series isn't over until one team wins 4 games.  Until then we were gonna go out there and give every game all we got.

If the Celtics win game 2, I think the Lakers are cooked.

reasons:

1) I don't see the Celtics losing 3 in a row.  Therefore, they win one on the road.  They come back to Boston 3-2

2) I don't see the Lakers winning two straight in Boston.

Now if the Lakers win, the Celtics are far from done.

1) they just beat Detroit 2 out of three in Detroit.

2) Even if they only win 1, they come back with two straight in Boston.

TP for your comments...was thinking the same way.

Can you imagine a game thread for game 2 of 1984 and how it would have been till Henderson's steal?

I agree.  I only think this is truly pivotal for LA.  Even if the C's lose, they can still take 1 or 2 in LA and come back to Boston to wrap it up.

I still say C's win game 2, take 1 of 3 in LA, then win it all game 6 back in Boston.

hahahahhah good one you're a riot.

Seriously, the loss was due to kobe going down with back spasms.  When I make a statement like we don't lose 2 in a row, I don't feel like I have to add fine print such as "assuming kobe, pau, lamar, etc. stay healthy and do not miss the game".

Use your brains, and take the Tommy Point back... it was earned erroneously.
