Complete non-story in my book.Sam made a comment he will talk to a team when he is legally able to talk to a team. Big deal.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Doc and the management team have already told Sam they don't want him around after this playoff series ends?

Because I'll tell you what, after that possession in the fourth where the shot clock was running down and KG had it in the low post and dished out to Sam on the three point line and then he passed it to Posey in the corner of the buzzer went off, Ray Allen didn't look to happy with Sam.It appeared to me and my sons that Ray was chewing Sam's butt off for not putting up the shot.

I imagined it went something like:

"What the hell is wrong with you?! When we have 20 seconds left on the clock you hoisting up three pointers before even trying to run the offense and then when we need you to shoot the ball because the clock is running down you pass the ball!?! Get your freaking head in the guy, dude!"

My son's quote was "the one time in the playoffs Cassell DOESN'T shoot the ball is when the shot clock's about to expire."

Is Chris Duhon a free agent this year?  He might not make a bad back-up PG.

But honestly... Do the Nuggets want him? No offense to Sam, because I think he tries hard (in his own way), but the years have caught up to him. It's over. It was a great, long and fun career. But it is time to move on. He just hustle and take over games like he once did.

Same note, why Denver?? I would go anywhere but Denver, that team doesn't seem to have what it takes.

I cant stand Cassel. This knucklehead has the nerve before the first game of the nba finals with the celtics to say he plans on talking to other teams and such. Get your head in the game Kobe Sr. and look to pass instead of jacking up bad shots....He did have a good game but some of the shots he takes just boggles my mind.

Sam had a good first half and used his mismatch on the block well. Then as usual he turned into the Sam that we all hate. Sam became selfish, slowed down our offense, and took terrible shots. He hit that one that KG saved into the back court, but wide open from 15 feet straight on I hit that 75% of the time. Then he got the hook by Doc and never saw the floor again. I wish that Doc would have inserted House in there for 2-3 minutes to see what he had.

He took terrible shots and slowed down our offense in the first half as well ... they just happened to go in.

Probably so. I have stated since before he got there that when his shots fall it is at least tolerable. He still takes terrible shots and the rest of his game is awful. I'd rather him post up Fisher and shoot that shot though than quick drawing a deep jumper 5 seconds into the shot clock with no rebounders...

Complete non-story.  Clearly he was prompted by a question about it.      I am sure he see's the writing on the wall that he won't be back next year (at least as a player), so of course he would go to the Nuggets, and one of his favorite coaches.

So???   Does it make a difference?  Unless he comes back as a coach he has really no future here anyway, and being this close to another ring I doubt if he would jeopardize that chance....

I would love to see Sam as a coach, only because it would be fun to see a coach somehow draw up a play that ends with them shooting the ball from the bench.

I wish the Nuggets could sign him today so he would leave...

Well that's it. I'm not going to watch the celtics anymore if Sam is talking about the posiblity of not being here next year. I'm must start preparing for that void in my life now ::)

To tell the truth, I can't begin to imagine that the Celtics would want him back next year anyway.

TP to your son BballTim!
Great observation. Only time Sam didn't shoot was when the shot clock was expiring. Priceless.
And can you imagine the Nuggets with Cassell? They'd have three of the most selfish players in the whole league. Hope it happens.
Anyway, this isn't the day to be negative. Sam was ok last night. But, like everyone else, I was begging for Doc to put Rondo back in early in the fourth.
