I've got issues with Simmons picking the Lakers over the Celtics in the Finals.
It's fine to be objective. However, Simmons has carefully crafted a persona where he is Boston Superfan #1. If he's going to reap the benefits of that, then he's also got to accept the criticism that comes with him throwing his team under the bus.
I usually don't agree with a lot of things you say and I was about to launch a tirade that would get me suspended, but you have crystalized my thoughts eloquently. I could not really express the way I felt about his writing, but this pretty much covers it. If you are going to cut your teeth as a "Fan" and hit it big, it is extremely disingenuous to try to be objective when you start making a paycheck.
