Assuming the C's don't make it past Cleveland, which at this point,  is a fair possibility. Who do the C's target as their next coach?

Van Gundy?

Can we please wait?  Please?

How about we discuss who's going to guard Rasheed instead?

definitely too soon to be talking about this, but i would rather see TT, or even Danny Ainge take head coaching responsibilities than Van Gundy. This isn't likely too happen though, the whole team loves Doc and the fact that he turned the team around from 2nd worst to 1st in the NBA, and got second place in coach of the year voting would most likely keep him in town for atleast another year.

Nah Bass, Doc will be the first coach ever to screw up and win a championship. His head will be requested on a CelticsBlog platter no matter what.
Yup

The next coach is...Doc Rivers

The fact that he got to the second round guarantees he's back next year no matter what happens.

If his contract is up, then that's a different story and we'll see what happens with that.

The only way he's not back next year is if what happens to Sam Vincent happens to Doc where basically the players hold a team meeting after their season is done and as one voice say that they don't think Doc is the coach for them.

might as well bring back jimmy rodgers...it looks like his offense out there.

What I would like to see is ABD (Anyone But Doc).  In reality, Ainge and he owners have stuck with him this far, so tough to see them making a change.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Going by all the alarmists on the boards right now, I think if the C's don't make it out of this series, the franchise should end, not be moved anywhere, just no more Celtics and all the players become free agents. Then maybe some of the negative people around here might finally be happy.

  • LETS DO IT AGAIN!
Doc is a great guy off the court and great with the media.

The problem is his rotation and offensive sets.
He can keep trying to make it work, but it obviously isn't.

Pierce can't gaurd LeBron, and he loses all of his energy doing so.

I think Doc should rotate the players a little bit more frequently.
There is not enough ball movement to get open shots or layups.
Rondo beats everyone down the court all the time as has to wait to set it up.

I think Doc deserves alot of credit for taking the team of new players this far, so he should keep his job.

Its got to be Tom Thibodeau. Everyone says he is deserving of a head coaching job and we should be afraid that he will get offered one elsewhere next season. I say if we dont get by Cleveland that he should defintiely be the front-runner for the job. He is already familiar with all the players. It makes too much sense.

TP, Celtic.  Talk about taking care of business.  Well done.
