west coast Cs fans here... got a question for those fortunate enough to attend the playoff games...

Any ex-Celtics attending the games?  watching the games on TV, i was sick of seeing dominque wilkins mug shot (atl fans were proud) every game.  i saw some other boston athletes (marion, ortiz), but never saw any ex-Cs.

I don't know about this series but as the post above said Jo Jo is usually there.  Russell is too, both are involved with the organization still.  Tommy is obviously there and a lot of times Cousy too.  I've seen Parish at a few playoff games I've been to in the past, Hondo too.  Unfortunately nowadays Larry only comes back for Pacers games.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

the only ones that were there this series were jojo, tommy and cooz (csn), and dana barros.  ainge, if u include him.

actually....i take it back, kc jones was there too, in a luxury suite behind my section.

during the 2002 playoffs, the celtic legends not only attended one of the game, but they all walked on the court while the other team was warming up. it was meant to psych them out and pump up the crowd...and it worked!  i believe it was against philly.

i anticipate that they will do something similar in the ecf and/or finals (should we get that far <fingers crossed>)

  • Yup
Jo Jo's been a regular all season.  Haven't seen to many other guys.  A bunch of others are currently employed by other teams so it might be a conflict of interests (though that didn't stop Roy Williams from rooting for Kansas in the NCAA Finals).
Yup

no problem.  it was very special, even red was out there. the place was rocking and there was no way the celts could lose the game with them all in attendance. even the sixers players turned and clapped at one point, showing respect.

You just had 2 mention M.L., didn't you.  I had blocked those horrid days outta my head, right along with Slick Rick's "reign of errors" .... I'm sure he's a fine person, but man, did he suck at coaching.
